Has anyone gotten him to work? He seems underpowered but it might just be that the weirdboy is too strong. For an extra elite point you get a character with vastly inferior clearing spells and a resource generation that's heavily redundant with waaaagh towers that you'll have anyway. Scrap drops do synergize somewhat with Mad Dread's passive heal, but then who gets Mad Dread instead of Beauty?
The doctrine scaling with mechanized units never really comes to shine since mechs are so expensive as well.
The beam is good for sniping enemy elites but feels too much of a "win more" spell, whereas other early elites typically get kills with their payloads even on their own.
All in all very underwhelming.
