omg, orks are god tier, eldar mid tier and space marines useless as usual... Tacticals can't hold the ground against DA and orks is just a bad joke... gorguts is ++heresy redacted++ imortal and the weirdboy rapes the whole army with 2 skills... disapointed...:(

Orks are very good early game and kinda hard to deal with but once you can get past the dire avenger/tac stage its not too bad. Try getting out melee units to get ontop of them and dont let them reach your ranged stuff.

when i played orks 1 tack with flamers used to kill my 3 shoota squads solo..
drop pods instagib a whole army and you can't stpread much due to waath, atleast i think so, have no idea how it works in this game yet.
i guess i'll try the weirdboy thing maybe it works against marines.
yeah you need to atleast know how to play the game before you speak of balance, there is no proper tutorial and no AI to try things out, the game has surprising amount of depth, which is nice actually.

Yeah I do apologise, I'm one of those "stupid teammates", having not played the game for around 10 years it is indeed a learning curve!
I would much prefer to have been able to play against the AI to learn the basic fundamentals of each race first before I try it online.
Unfortunately, Relic has limited the Open-Beta to just the tutorials and online play against human opponents, so for us "stupid teammates" our hands are tied unfortunately.

Weirdboy feels like he needs some fixing but for now the obvious solution is to not group up. Fist of gork is well advertised and shouldn't be landing on you unless you get nob taunted or something. Angelos can bounce back the projectile with his shield. The shotgun spell, again, is countered by splitting up. You also have a split second to stun him after he comes in with his teleport and mess his whole combo up. Obviously if he teleported in he won't be teleporting out, so shoot him dead.
Don't get itchy with the drop pods because each one essentially gives them salvage, which early on is extremely valuable. Only use them if you're sure it's ground you'll be holding.

If you play as Space Marines you go 1 Servitor, 1 Tactical and 1 Tactical in a drop pod, the Servitor goes to the middle to take the point and then builds a listening post plus a Barrack, the Tactical squad takes the nearest natural and rallies to the Servitor. If the Orks attack you use your drop pod, your banner, and reinforce near the Barrack, also micro your troops. Then you produce one squad of Scouts, because their stun grenade can stop the channelling on the Slugga, after that start producing Assault Marines, while you’re doing that take your Servitor to your last natural resource point, take it, then go to your HQ and build an Armory there. Once it’s done research the Power Sword, give to one squad of Tactical a Flame Thrower, the other Plasma Gun. At last build a Chapter Barrack near the mid, and spam Tactical and Assault with few Scouts, you can also research the mines, they’re pretty good.
Elite wise you’ll need the Deatwatch team, they’ll stomp close combat units with their grenade (slow + increase damage taken) and flame thrower, then go for Angelos to be at the head of your army. Doctrine-wise take upgraded listening post, flame thrower upgrade, and the last one doesn’t matter.
Note: Going for Devastators instead of Scout/Assault also works, but you’ll need careful positioning.

SM are easilly the best 3v3 race right now. The fact that eldar wraith end game, their only gamegame, is hard countered by drop pods SM get by upgrading should be a big tell.
If you are losing to eldar not abusing wraith respawns, then you need to attend the school of git guds.

Zzapnogin goes down extremely quickly to anything that looks at him side ways.
Right now it's very hard to dodge stuff because of input lag (maybe just my experience) and it makes you feel very helpless against army-evaporators.
When playing against orks as SM I find that tacs are on the back burner until I get an armory for flamers (ohhoho see what I did there?) And instead opt to go with scouts/asm into HB devs. Scouts and HB devs make for a lovely pairing early on as that stun is a really mean tool. Having flamer tacs screen your HBS with "slow death" is usually pretty good at stopping any sort of charge shenanigans while your devs do the heavy lifting.

Friendly fire is not a thing in this game so feel free to use it to hose down anyone. Usually I will try(try) to get my asm into CC with their cc and then hose down the whole lot with a flamer

I'll be honest, I'm yet to play with Eldars, I don't find them attractive for my playstyle. In all of my games with Orks I lost only one. With Space Mariens I won only two...
In fact, I just had an epic one hour long game where we barely won, and most likely because 5 of 6 of us were SM, only one opposing player was with the Orks. I have no idea... just how many times we wiped out each other's armies completelly with orbital lazers. And even other means. They pushed us to the wall, I'm seeing that Deff Dread blob, upgraded with the spinning scrap shields dancing at the doorstep... I feel my faith is abandoning me...
Nothing what an orbital laser wont solve! And Dreads and Termies were perfectly able to hold onto their own, they hit hard and take some punishment. Predators can also take a lot of damage as long as you are facing with their front armor. Then we pushed them, I'm destroying their shield generator, oh d*mn, they are slamming our power core. Woo, orbital lazerz, b***h! Oh, my stuff on the other side of the map got wiped out too, cuz I had to concentrate on the deffense... Oh well. Lets start from the scratch with those thousands of resources.... Every game feels like the Kaurava campaign...
Then we are pushing again, but being met with that HUGE blob of Dreads and Marines, BOOM, more lazerz, and more, and MORE. And then some more at their doorstep. Their army wiped, our army wiped, but somehow we managed to overwhelm them eventually. Ugh. All of the Elites were called and killed numerous times. For the die hard DoW2 players this could be quite a shocker.

ye , orbital of spell maryn are too good , with 3 SM at the same team , just wait enemy army get in and BOOM , everything in that area will disapear ! and seem like eldar hero need a little more tanky !Macha is fine , jainzr too ,and rohnan , oh my eldar have too much nuker ,suppoter and totaly lack tanker elite early game ! Maybe in final release eldar will have scorbion elite for tank !(or again another ++heresy redacted++ sasin steath nuker like jainzar

Oh and after nearly 10 match ,one thing i hate about this beta test is people when lose a small fight will install drop from a game .I have 8 match when 2 player of my team drop when lose a few fight at resouce point early game ,what wrong , people these day dont have a spirit , when they think they lose they drop game like a crying baby !Especially the guy name ChevalierR , i play with that guy 4 math and he drop 4 time

Lol, I won two more games with Space Marines. Its ok now, its balanced cuz I started to win, haha. But uh, lost all of my stuff couple of times during the game.

I feel it is more player's fault than balance. Sure we will see in a few days op combos, but Dows3 feels easy to play, hard to master.
I've played just few games with every faction but I have enough xp to feel; every one is OP until I try the other ... so balance atm, seems pretty good to me.
