The objective to play the open beta is to test the Multiplayer mode, the idea, the capabilities of the game mode, and I have to say that for the first time, this Dawn of War is potentially one of the best competitive RTS at this moment.
I don't want to talk about balance between factions because that is the topic for another thread.....I want to explain why I see this DoW more competitive.
1.- Micromanage....This game requires a lot of micromanage....the troops, the movement, the abilities, the elites, the vehicles. I believe the micromanage of this game is even harder than the micromanage in Starcraft 2.....In DoW 1 you can reinforce your squad in every place of the map, even in a fight.....In DoW 2 you have the retreat button to reinforce your squad at the base....in DoW 3 you have to manually move your troops to the base to reinforce the squads. Maybe it is hard to micromanage because the troops are small and the selection click is not polished yet.....it is hard to micromanage in battle.....yes...when the Space Marines bring 2 Thunderhawks to deploy 2 Dreadnought in your face........literally in your face because you can't see the screen....
2.- The core, the turret, the shield.....It is a familiar game mode for everyone who has played the games like LoL, Dota 2, HotS....for that reason, this game should not be hard to play, but it should be hard to master..
3.- Maps......The 3vs3 map is awesome......I don't have the feel I am playing in "lines".....a well known term in the games above too........the 3vs3 mode is a combination of an RTS with a MOBA.
Personally I like this DoW 3, and I really want to see it to shine.....not lost in the dust....I want to show every one of my friends that Warhammer 40k is the best universe out there.
I really miss the music in the game.....
And I need a WAAAGH! tower in my office to rise to work harder hahahha, best idea ever, so Mad Max, love it!!!.
