I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I would love to make a suggestion for changing up the SM devastator lascannons that would also still allow counter play and maybe be a simple change.
I understand the intention of moving AWAY from 'burst' shots because it's difficult to counter play against a unit that doesn't have a readable presence and looks too similar to the standard heavy bolter Devastator.
Instead of sticking with the continuous stream of damage, why not go back to the 'burst' of energy (which is done with Predator Annihilators), but have them paint a target for a brief period before firing?
This would indicate to an enemy player 'oh they have Anti-Tank/Vehicle/Skimmer/Armor', while also keeping with the lore elements of a single shot reloaded energy weapon.
Having the unit 'sight' their weapons first before firing with a laser would enable counter play while simultaneously allowing for a player to stick with lore friendly burst damage.
