What do you think of him?
To me he seems too weak for 4 points. His utility is nice, tractor beaming fleeing elites/expensive squads is really good plus the shielding aspect of it is rather decent as well sometimes. But his orbital scrap and his turrets are really, really ,really weak. And he attacks very slow.
I think he's probably worse than every 3 cost elite, yet I still use him because I like him. Imo should probably be a 3-drop though

Aye, I agree is is pretty weak. He is pretty bad for 4 elite points, as he is only really good at defence. I could see him being used to fortify a position temporarily, but besides that he's just a glorified moving scrap generator.
Reducing his cost to 3 might make him viable, for newer players (I'll get back to that). Problem here is that, his attacks actually deal some pretty good damage, so if you get him too early (and kinda save an elite point), you can all of a sudden deal with high health elites, like Gabriel or an enemy Gorgutz, while at the same time you can get your better elites out faster than before. He is also pretty tanky (for a mek) because of his mega armour. His scrap turrets are also really strong, if utilized well, and he can buff an ally/damage an enemy, which gives him more decisions than other elites.
All in all, I'd say he fits pretty well on 4 points, but it's more the numbers on his shield/damage ability that needs to go up a bit. Not too much, maybe 10-20%, and he could be fine. Remember that he is pretty difficult to use, as noted on his info page, so maybe people just need more training with him, to see what tactics are best with him.
Personally, I'll try to use him with lootas and nobz. Have the lootas find a good spot to sit in and use the nobz as a wall. Then call down scrap to either give the nobz even more backup with turrets, or help the lootas in case of ASM, Scorpions and other fast melee units. This might work, or it might not. Can't test before Friday, but I might give an update then

I disagree with turrets being strong even in certain situations, they're very weak compared to any other elites damage. I consider myself a decent player, 70 games with 90% winrate, and there just isn't a situation where I'd ever prefer wazmakka to another elite of that cost or even less cost.

I like Wazmakka, ranged true damage, the tractor beam is great, W is insane range. E is a bit subpar as its range is shorter then his W. Overall hes quite decent...basically hes similar to Jonah, but WAAAY slower (this is the real killer to me) and tankier. He honestly feels like a 3 pt elite overall. I feel like he either needs various buffs to justify his 4 pt slot, or a few nerfs to justify a 3 pt slot.

Except Jonah has an ability that splats entire squads
Scrap drop deals okay'ish damage at best on a small area

I think thats his point, he is support after all ...
your units can heal from scrap, you have guys like invis deff guns, gorgutz, trukks or deff dreads who need to replenish their scrap passive after some time, unlike other units who have it permanently, and with those scrap magnets for units you are giving free movement buffs, I think those turrets have scaling damage based on game phase or waagh (dont know if thats true, looks to me that way) and they are useful, when you pull them out in the middle of fray its like building suddenly 2 waagh towers and all you had to do was either rain scrap or kill something
he definitely isnt early game carry elite, I often use him in builds when I dont have gorka/morka and get to him as a last elite where you already have more EP than you need and use it mostly on ults

I use Wazmakka in all my games. My go to tactic is fielding 3 to 5 Deff Koptas to harass enemy bases and when they go down any remaining defenders get wiped by the scrap turrets. I also find his Tractor beam good for killing elite units. I've taken down Knights and Wraith-Knights using the beam to hold them in place while anti-vehicle units surround them.
I really like Wazmakka

This is what my buddy does. The only elite that he truly cares about is Wazmakka and this is his main reason for loving him.

I just started using him and I kinda like him. I think the most interesting part about him is that he can poke at the towers and other structures very well from range with his "W" and then activating the scrap-turrets. It's pretty safe and the dmg over time is way higher than the poking of any other elite at his cost. I'm gonna toy around with him some more and see if I continue to like him.
Since I do trukk-pushes very often, his default scrap-cannon doctrine seems cool as well and knowing the importance of scouting, I kinda like his other doctrine as well. But they both seem neat in theory, but might be a bit too weak overall compared to the really really good doctrines of certain elites that really change how you can play ork. (for example basically all the trukk-doctrines, which all totally rock, or the reinforcing waagh-towers which allow you to position yourself anywhere else than inside your base against eldar before 4 mins. ^^')

It´s also pretty hilarious to go around trying to tag other elites / expensive units with his Q and drag them into your own guys so you can isolate and kill annoying units. Oh, an enemy Zapnoggin is it? Oooops
ShakerGER
I think he is very close to the Zap noggin the strongest Elite in the game. You know that his scrap turrets have a DPS of 180 right? The tractor beam has 3 uses depending on the target and it deals percentage based damage? Also he deals 80 normal damage in melee and 17 true in ranged? He can loot scrap to convert it into charges? Thus you can store more scrap in your base on down phases? I also have more data on him. This should suffice for now.
I hope this won't become common knowledge fast. I still wanna use his a lot until the world catches on.

I really like him tbh. Played him a bunch in the beta, and while everybody and their squig was lauding the weirdboy, I just had a soft spot for old wazmakka. The tractor beam alone has fantastic utility - even just pulling particularly annoying squads into a crossfire feels amazing. Plus, shielded nobz are a thing of beauty.
I have to say though, if we're talking slight buffs or tweaks, I'd like to see him get a repair ability. A mekboy that can't fix gubbinz doesn't feel like a true mekboy. I doubt it would be game breaking exactly, but it would feel nice. Plus, it would allow something tankier than a grot to support the big lumbering walker elites.

Even for all the points @ShakerGER makes he's still far too situational. Scrap turrets require lots of scrap in a small area to be significant and it must be channeled, making it both extremely predictable and easily interrupted. Predictable + immobile = death in this current meta. For the same price Gorgutz does the same DPS, slows, eats all ranged attacks, and can knockback/taunt all with one ability and no set-up required, and once that's done he can still duel elites and tank towers for you. To top it off both of his elite doctrines are premium.
If they make Wazmakka's ability stack scrap heaps and reworked his loot to something else I'd be much more tempted to use him. Fast deff dreads and kannons? Very interesting, and not really imbalanced for his cost. It would also push his Kommando synergy further and maybe make the two viable.
