I should have saved the replay but it works. Stealth your Kommando up, put down a Rok, and pick that sh*t up and carry it around freely while in stealth. Extra bonus if you waited long enough after engaging stealth to save your stealth-stun combo for the explosion on the Roks. In the end my Kommando stands alone atop a pile of scrap, cracking a sly smile and wiping the blood of his goggles in preparation for his next mission.

Don't forget Kommando Nob will also be chomping on his cigar in the aftermath. I usually try going the Wierdboy route with roks but this sounds good.

can enemies see the ability itself floating around ? or just see falling rocks ?
Killyox
Or do it with gretchins :P
Ramon
What does that mean?
GoddessJuni
You can create the Roks safely behind your lines, then right before it's final explosion you have Wiredboy pick it up and teleport into enemy lines (maybe also bring your units with you if you want). It's pretty strong.
redScare
LOL That´s pure genius
TheDukeofDirty
Stormboys work about as well as zapnoggin for the same thing.
Ramon
Thats great news. I didnt know you can teleport with it ^^ Usually I picked it up with an upgraded DeffDread while channeling a big waaagh and took it with my army on a big push but this is even better
Skemooo
when you say rok do mean scrap or kommados trap? im new to orks :P
GoddessJuni
Roks are the Ork's ultimate ability. The ability costs elite points and allows the player to call down a large AOE DOT area centered around a spinning sensor. After a little bit of time the area explodes for heavy burst damage. It also seems to me that the Roks explode faster when they are held by someone but I still need to test this. Lastly, your enemy can pick up your Roks. This happened to me last night. Maybe it was a bug, but an enemy sniper squad was able to pick up an accidental Roks I had called down and moved it away from their main army.
GoddessJuni
Stormboyz sometimes works even better as they have a bit more reliable aoe stun which can hold one or two units still before you jump in. Though Weirdboy allows you to bring your units along the ride with you for extra pain. Depends on what you prefer.
GoddessJuni
They can see the ability and the falling Roks I believe. To the enemy it will seem to be floating around by itself.
Skemooo
@GoddessJuni oh the ultmate ability.. yeah when i played SM i used enemy rok and picked it with ASM and jump jetted right in themiddle of his army you can even do assault leap with roks :P
kickinleg
I've tried kommando a few times and he always just completely sucked horribly. ^^
I don't think him sneaking around roks is gonna change that... I can't really see in what situation I'd really want him over other elites.
WarJester
Stormboyz are effective with Roks. The jump ability has good range, and as you pointed out the stun is great in combination. Also, having a 2pt elite unit is always handy.

I played vs an Eldar yesterday. 3 times i had to micro like a boss to avoid his friggin 'cloud' but when my ROKS was ready...it was like in Hiroshima when his army evaporated and his delicious tears started dripping on the keyboard xD
KanKrusha
stormboy work but they tend die to focus fire as they do it.
If your enemy picks up the rok does it do friendly fire to yourself? I thought they could only carry it to safety, not actually hurt you with it
Kneecap
Nah the rok will not cause friendly fire when held by enemy. I thought it did, so i used it cautiosly. But i watched the indrid cast with Koof [vs] Capoch and the OrK player sends the rok right into the enemy without picking it up, and the enemy avoided picking it up.
It would really suck as a nuking ability if it could be used agaisnt you. :P
