The best part for me was finally landing on the traveling planet and seeing wierd rocks sticking up from the ice and suddenly seeing the face beneath it and realizing "++heresy redacted++ we are fighting ON a demon right now" and sure it wasnt the greatest RTS campaign out there but it was entertaining and well worth its time. As with all the Dow1 expansion campaigns i hope the campaign for DoW3 gets better and better aswell. (A big fan of the Risk map and the racial fortresses).
So heres to hoping that we get to slay all living things and go back to our nap within a near future!

With all the faction switching each side of story felt less personal and i lost interest.
That's called "player agency", and Relic clearly didn't understand this concept when they made the campaign. It's hard to immerse yourself in the story when you're controlling character A in one mission, and then all of the sudden you're controlling character B who's fighting the character you were just controlling...and so on.
I have just completed mission 4 (Starfort Helios) and am enjoying it so far. It's not vCoH, but it's pretty good, and I really like the cinematics/audio and the fact that certain missions have unlocks.
I have just finished the campaign on normal difficulty and generally enjoyed playing it. I must confess to not being a pure rts player as when I was younger I played a lot of turn based games. I think I am now something of a hybrid rts player and have played Starcraft 2, Total war Attila and Warhammer recently.
As for the story it was very similar to the first game but they did not finish this one as well. I thought it a shame that if they were to base it on a Demon again that they could not have used the one from the first game. His conversation with Gabriel at the end made it for me. So the next time they would meet would have been interesting.
I did not really like the last mission, just had you running about alot and reminded me of an arcade game. I thought the characters and voice acting were generally good and some of the maps were quite interesting. There were some issues with pacing as limited resources meant you had to slowly build an assault, but that suited me personally.
As for playing a different race on every other mission, you can lose some of the build up with your favourite faction but it does get you to play all the factions in some depth. Reminded me of Warcraft 3 although i think they strung a few missions together before you moved to another faction. Usually I just stick with space marines.
I will go back to the campaign to see if i can complete it on hard difficulty
I enjoyed the campaign. My main complaints are that the resource income seems a bit slow in a lot of missions, which punishes you heavily for not keeping units alive. Also i think instead of a daemon they should have used necrons as the big bad, it would have been a lot more interesting than yet another big bad chaos villain like DoW1.
I liked it better than a few of Relic's recent campaigns. Much better than Coh2 and Retribution imo.

Yeah i liked the campaign (not as good as DoW 1 first two campaigns) but pssst people rather play a lame compstomp skirmish meta campaign.
