I know it's too early to discuss this, but when you got the idea and then don't let it disappear away.
Part I. This game is all about the feedbacks and "competitive"(High APM) gameplay.
Part II. Game Design.
[I] Scale of Squad：
SM - TSM 10 men. (2 row)
Orcs - Slugga boyz 16 men. (2 rows)
IG - Baisc Infantry 20 men. (2 rows)
It's just the ratio among small scale, medium scale and large scale.
[II] Cover System：
A. I will say it's kind of like the combination of DOW2 and Halo Wars 1 and Gear of War.
B. It's means there are a lot of "Pre-built" Environment Cover on the map and Players can build their "Cover".
C. Players have to garrison(Not to capture) the "Cover" to use. and their Arc will be limit.
D. Some of those environment cover are rebuild-able, they required recharge time and players can rotate the cover direction. (It requires Story Support.)
E. The most important thing - Build-able Cover.
(a) Every unit can build his own cover. It's kind of an almost instant building and requires units stay in cover to active it. If units are leaving the cover and then the cover will destroy itself.
(b) This ability has a lot of limitation -
It requires small amount cost of resource and the cover just reduce the damage and it has an Existing Time maybe 30 seconds and has 30 seconds CD and it can be destroyed.
(c) For example, the Eldar Shield is not permanent, if Infantry left(Out of garrison) it and then it will disappear. If it does exist 30 seconds and then its power out and it also disappears too.
(d) I think the covers have Long Type(One direction protection) and Full Type(All direction protection)
F. About the path-finding：
I think just do not have the "Crush" in the game and it's solved and to make some covers are passable and some are not.
G. If every unit can build his own cover and then we don't have to worried how to put them in covers and just make those environment covers like the Trench of UK - those can only garrison 1~3 squads.
H. But, it's kind of different from Trench, that is enemy units can cross/vault/jump over the cover to attack those garrison units. (Kind of like Bubble Shield in DOW3.) So, the melee units still have work to do.
To be continued........
