If that kaboom isn't gonna level careless infantry squads, I'm not sure he's worth the micro over other similarly priced elites, now. Thoughts?
I think both 3-pt elites are not useful anymore. They worth something, only if you believe in your quick victory within 12-18 minutes. Tier 3 infantry upgrades make Wierdboy's and Commando's damage laughable.
This is exactly the argument I'm trying to make in the patch thread. Everyone just dismisses it as OP and they don't care about the setup involved while they go back to pressing Q and W to summon AOEs and attacks that are now more comparable to Kommando's unique ability. It's like no-one realizes or cares that Kommando simply doesn't work that way and has just a little more involvement. At least I'm still effective when using Zapnoggin. The best kept secret about Kommando is that your opponent never realizes just how close they have been to getting bombed hard, but a stray grenade or ability knocked Kommando out of the windup, something blew up the mine so you couldn't turn it into a bomb. Good players simply find the Kommando and halt him in his tracks. But everyone remembers those times they were the victim of the Kommando money shot and that emotion prevails.
I find the weirdboy still strong, early on against eldar and orks and midgame against SM. He does stop harass in its tracks hard with his fist of gorks, with fist and a teleport you can shut down speeders and asm quick.
weirdboy also deletes any heavy armor multi unit squads like nobs and wraiths and chunks early dreads.
Weirdboy is still useful, because imba scout spam is very popular at these days. Most of abusers are low-skilled players and they just skip infantry upgrades for their scouts. This could be punished with nice hit-kills by Zzapnogin's spells.
