So, what are some thoughts on Wazzmakka? Do many people think he is viable? For a 4pt Elite I think Gorgutz is simply better and easier to play as an alternative.
However, since the Kommando nerf (and indeed even before bomb ability nerf), I have been trying to combo Wazzmakka's scrap call-down ability with the Kommando's scrap bomb. I have yet to really get even a single instance of this combo to really be effective even when against a tac marine spam blob. Whether due to my lack of skill or awareness by my opponent may not matter as this is a cheesy combo that requires a bit of over-commitment.
In response to a comment basically saying Wazzmakka isn't a viable competitive option, @Stoner asked if anyone watched "FoxClaw"(Ork) VS "(KT)Bikerushownz"(SM) match.
I believe this is the match: https://youtube.com/watch?v=FaDMX-1bj0A
Crazy marathon of a game (Thanks @Stoner for pointing out and FoxClawTV for uploading)! But Wazzmakka really gets a good scrap turret proc early, defends some points, and then for the rest of the game really just pokes at node points and runs from anything more than a land speeder. Maybe some action I missed or I am forgetting, it was a long game. So the point he was trying to make is kinda lost on me...
So topic here is what are great plays or strategies you use with Wazzmakka? Does he make the cut for one of your elite slots?
For me, it is really all about pulling the opponents elites into my army with his beam. Scrap beam is really slow to me and Wazzmakka needs to be stationary when channeling scrap turret and that is a deal breaker for me on that ability.

Apologies, this is a bit of a duplicate thread...spelling prevented my searches from finding original.

his beam and scrap call down but not a big fan of those turrets. He doesn't feel very strong atm. Only arguably really good thing he has it the fact that tractor beam deals % dmg overtime which as far as i remember was absurdly high if you managed to hold enemy unit in it over the entire duration. But that will never happen.

Wazmakka costs 4 points, same as Gorgutz. So, if you use him, you take him instead of Gorgutz. Yes, it is possible to have both, but nevertheless you have to choose whom to summon first. And if you have Gorgutz and Wazmakka, your third elite should be Stormboyz. That means, you will have your third hero available around 20:00 mark. Too late for another 4-pt hero. So, let's compare Gorgutz with Wazmakka to decide, who is good, and who is just bad.
Gorgutz allows you:
1) Free reinforcements
2) Free mobile WAGGH! everywhere (not actually 100% free: you need to pay one piece of scrap)
3) Active skill to protect all Orks around from enemy ranged attacks
4) Passive debuff, which protects from melee attacks
5) Ability to grab retreating targets AND to stop vehicles, which use reverse-mode-fire against you
6) Possibility to destroy enemy shield generator by his own, if it is poorly defended
7) You also get the most tanky 4-pt elite with 5000 hp to protect your troops from fire even better
8) Besides, Gorgutz is decent duelist and can be made even stronger with WAAAGH!
Wazmakka allows you:
1) Nice buff/debuff spell for just single target once at 30 seconds
2) Summoning free scrap, which can be synergized with some Orky doctrines and Knob's explosions
3) Channeling spell with decent damage, but it requires preparations and can be interrupted by grenade/stun/silence.
4) Decent ranged damage, which could be utilized to counter small vehicles and finishing off enemy squads on low hp.
5) The most important one: you could grab enemy hero to you and prevent him/her from casting some of his/her spells! But please note, each enemy 4-pt elite can kill Wazmakka 1v1 even despite his debuff, so you need a stronger army to take this as advantage.

For me Wazmakka is a great answer in several matchups:
In orc vs SM I always have trouble with gabriel and dreadnoughts, the beam easily handles both. Just stick it on them and then kite! Gabriel's retribution and the librarians barrier don't stop his beam which is fantastic.
In the mirror match, he's good against an enemy gorgutz and nobz, again beam does great damage to them because its % based. In my experience most ork vs ork is decided on who makes better use of nobz. With wazmakka denying the enemy nobz, yours can go to town on the rest of the army.
Against eldar I find his biggest use is to slow down kyre before he bombs your whole army. But here I think gorgutz is better because his spin provides a much needed shield from dark reaper spam, and the taunt helps to draw eldar back from kiting.
Most players underestimate Wazmakka and just walk their heroes in under supported, as they are used to just tanking damage.
One thing to remember is that the beam also provides a shield to friendly troops, so shielding nobz and taunting is good.
The problem is often in a push to objectives he can't put pressure on except with his turrets - which the enemy army usually just walks away from. As far as I know the heavy upgrades also affect the scrap turrets, so if you use him you need to invest in those.

With some more Wazmakka play...I'm really beginning to like him. It is hard to really maximize his abilities offensively, but that is not really the point of his abilities either. I suppose he is really more defensive and can help stave off an attack and even tracktor beam an elite or squad to be wiped out with support once you opponent makes the decision to retreat.
That beam though on the high hp units. My last play session saw a game of Annihilation where I was trying to close the game out with a push into an enemy SM's base. He had just called down solaria as I approached with wazmakka and gorkanaut. Wazmakka launched his beam onto solaria and began running around to avoid being targeted by abilities, gorkanaut launched his fist and began attacking. Solaria melted away before Gorkanaut was even down to half health, maybe even before 60%. I even let the rest of my army just focus on the base. Wazmakka seemed to really help with just how fast Solaria was dispatched. Solaria was probably going down anyway, but it felt good to get rid of her as quickly as I did.

Gorgutz is able to do the same with Solaria, but he also allows you FREE reinforcements and FREE WAAAGH! everywhere. It's good to know you win even despite you've picked Wazmakka, but that does not mean he is decent.
