Eldar 3v3 - Jain Zar’s mobility is too effective at taking out skimmers
Problem
In the early/mid game, Jain Zar’s Dash is very effective at killing vulnerable skimmers - especially Shadow Spectres. Losing Spectres (and the Power they cost) is extremely punishing early into a game when you’re still splitting focus between teching up and producing T2 units.
Though her Dash is a big factor in what makes her so good at chasing them down, I think the real issue is her base movement speed. She seems to be faster than similar-cost Elite units, and this means that she doesn’t always need to Dash to initiate. Instead, she can just rush in and hold onto Dash as an escape.
Solution
Skimmers are, by their nature, strong when enemies are trying to engage on them from a distance, and when they can rely on negative space in the map to quickly disengage where most units can’t follow. Of course, Jain Zar can still close the gap with Dash. Because her base speed is so fast, that gives the Spectres less time to damage her and make you think twice about using her only escape to engage on you.
I think the best solution is to lessen her base movement speed by 15%, but keep her base speed unchanged if in range of a Webway Gate. This way, even if she escapes, you have an opportunity to hit back at their economy by taking out the Gate. Either way it’s a risk to both players’ Power investment (Webway Gate vs. Shadow Spectres) and the result is up to who plays better.
