I really think that Power core should have double the health or the health should scale with the escalation phases (if it already doesn't).
Whatever the phase is, it always feels it is too easy to backdoor if you have lost one shield generator and one turret. It feels like you have to babysit the core ultra hard and have full map vision for any kind of guerilla attacks. There are units that can absolutely wreck the power core real quick like ASM and Shadow Specter, which are cheap by the way and the core is also damaged by nukes, which is real unfortunate. Orks cannot destroy it as sneaky like, but that's off the topic.
In many cases where you lead the game after those generator and turret losses, you are absolutely bound to not make any mistakes with the core or you lose. Sometimes, even if you have your whole army or half of it sitting next to it, some clever stasis plays or just simple rush in and quick nuke will destroy the core. It is just too fragile and too difficult to defend in any manner. This means that in the earlier stages of the game you cannot make a decision to lose a shield generator in exchange to destroy enemy resource generators, buildings or some of his army elsewhere. When you lose that shield and then the turret, even if your trade off was otherwise benefitable, you are screwed, because the core is almost weak as paper if you think what sort of unit spamming or nuke ability late game state offers.
It is just too weak. I suggest doubling the health and if not give it a huge health boost, it should not be damaged by all sorts of nuke abilities, like fist of gork and stuff like that. It is just silly how easily the core goes down. I'm fine that a turret is somewhat easy to destroy already, but the core is the deciding factor of the whole game in hand and it is just so saddening to be always absolutely required to protect those shields and turrets and not even consider any other trade offs. If my suggested changes would be made, the game would be little more open for different possibilities.
What do you others think? Does the core need a change and how would you implement it? Maybe it should be even weaker, more something, your call.
