On the Wikipedia page it's being claimed that the budget for DoW 3 couldn't have been more than 3.5 mil.
"The budget for the game might to have been within 3.5 million USD according to the Sammy-SEGA annual earnings report page 7 ." http://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/ir/library/pdf/printing_annual/2016/2. ar2016_e.pdf
I don't care enough to go through that pdf to try to figure out how they came to that conclusion but I'd love if someone else who does care enough would go through it to see if this claim has any real credence.
If it's true, it really pisses me off that so little was invested. Dawn of War deserves better. It then becomes no wonder that this game has disappointed so many people. And yet these people still came away with a sizeable profit. That's good news for Relic/Sega, but bad news for all the fans that wanted a better Dawn of War 3.
