So devs are trying to increase the life span of local battlefronts, certainly by increasing overall life of units.
This is a good idea! Why ?
The balance between reinforcement and retreat strategies would be more equalized (more of the first one).
The shift between micro and macro management would be a bit easier meaning more accessible to average player.
All micro tactics would have much more chance to be used and used effectively. It's clear that at the moment, there
is to many useless doctrines/abilities, even useless units (or very hard to use) because they dies before having any
chance to show us their "art of war". That is so frustrating.
Also, having a bit of time to visually enjoy battlefronts is absolutely important for us casual gamer. We like seing
units fighting bravely, we like the crowd effect, we like seieng fires of all kind coming from both sides of the front-line...
And god ++heresy redacted++ Eldars vehicles are so fragile ;)
But now comes drawbacks and I am focusing on one of them : Camping/stacking strategy.
I thing this might be a big issue. Just thinking of a large and compact regiment of buffed space marines makes me
having nightmares as an "Eldar exclusive" player. As I remember, stacking strategy could be a bit excessive in dow 1.
I think that in this game, devs were trying absolutely to avoid this phenomenon and this is maybe one of the reason the
game is how it is now. And we know what are the reactions.
So while increasing life of units to increase lifetime of battlefront we should also think of updates to avoid camping strategy.
I've just thought about one but I hope you guys would come with some.
I thought about a rain of missiles coming from space activated by a player only when enemy forces are big enough and
concentrated in one point of the map during to many time. When all these conditions are fulfilled, a message is sent to
you from orbital forces asking for permissions to strike the freshly localized enemy forces.
The idea is to force players to spread their army around the map and would multiply battlefronts thus forcing macro
management of war.
Micro management would be more accesible and macro would be deepen by increasing life span of battlefront and by
forcing player to spread their units around the map respectively.
Also this would be better with bigger maps (I don't mind much if its less detailed or furnished)
So What do you think of all this ?
PS: I am newbee/average player with around 50 hours of game. I'm playing exclusively Eldars which is probably why I am
not that good (Not knowing others factions is obviously a big weakness)
