Possible Game modes to add:
Last Stand: Already Possible thanks to what is shown in the Campaign
Capture the Pointy Stick: Either make it like Capture the Flag (Moba like) or King of the hill with maps either designed for or have alternate map versions for this mode and others
Fortress Assault: Team A defends either the Imperial Fortress or possible Base in Achron while Team B has to destroy it (This requires larger map size, deeper level design (Different level level of elevations, different turret types, AI spawning light infantry (IG possibly) with barracks that teams defend/destroy etc)
Announce if you’re doing Expansions or DLC
Campaign: High priority for Expansions, Less so with DLC (Expansions have more expectation of new campaign than DLC)
Campaign should NOT be a heavy tutorial like the current one is. This will make the campaign difficult for players to continue playing if it feels redundant to learn about the factions.
While I enjoy the switching of factions, the new campaign should ease the switching
Factions: Top Priority for all
Maps: Top priority, has to have different environment and design than vanilla maps and possible upcoming free maps updates
Game modes: Low Priority, Updates should manage that but may be helpful if included based on possible campaign or even faction focus
High Priority: Imperial Guards, Chaos, Necrons
Mid Priority: Tyranids, Tau, Dark Eldars, Sisters of Battle
Low Priority: Special Space marine Chapters and Chaos Legion (Comeback to later), Sisters of Battle (GIVE THEM THEIR OWN PLAYSTYLE)
Random Chance Priority: Genestealers Cults, Cult Mechanicus/Skitarii (This is because they’re recent either reintroduced or introduced to table top, have never been done in video game strategy wise and will need alot of design process to make them feel right)
# of Factions: 2 Minimal, 3 best; Dawn of war 1 and the 2 Dawn of war 2 Expansions included 1 new faction but adding 2 or 3 new expansions similar to Dark Crusade, Soul Storm or even Company of Heroes Opposing Forces will make fans happier and help ease the # of Expansions required to get all factions in Dawn of war 3
Similar to Space marine but weaker fire power in favor for stronger close combat
Have cultist be both light infantry and builders and allow worship to speed up resource or Tier.
Chaos God Worship Choice: Because Dawn of war 1 Follow Khorne and Nurgle for Dawn of war 2, Dawn of war 3 should either follow either Slannesh or Tzeentch OR allow players to choose with 4 different Chaos skins or upcoming DLC for Chaos
Chaos Lord: Either new character or someone from before, Equal to Gabriel Angelos
Chaos Sorcerer: New character (I WISH SINDRI CAN COME BACK), Equal to Chapter Librarian Jonah Orion
Dark Apostle: New Character (I don’t think one was introduced in DOW I think), Equal to Chaplain Diomedes

1 Structure (Monolith) with possible building of Obelisk, Necrons should be mobile like eldar but powerful enough to defend itself, also would make sense for necron to have a moving fortress than an actual base. If Monolith is destroyed, can be repaired or teleport back to starting location for resource.
Necrons should be powerful in both melee and range but slower in movement (Expection with hovering units). Can resurrect when fallen in battle but with lower chance (Balancing wise)
Necrons won’t have access to light infantry but can build medium infantry earlier. Medium Infantry will cost more to help prevent rush attacks.
Necrons uses Listening post to get more access to unit, more listening post from them or their teammates, the more variety of units

Imperial Guards have Weaker infantry than other factions but are cheaper to produce and have better Vehicles. Can focus on Massing Infantry or vehicle army.
Structures should be similar to Dawn of war 1 IG faction where structures also act as bunkers with tunnels connecting. Imperial Guards should also be able to build Defensive structures (More on that later).
Player can be Cadian (Normal), House Varlock version or Special Regiments (Expansion or DLC).
Cadian Command Squad: New Character, makes more sense for a squad of command guards vs other faction elite than a single general like in Retribution, give boost to nearby units (Boost Damage, speed)
Lord Commissar: New Character, should affect nearby infantry
Inquisitor: Either new Character or even Inquisitor Holh
Ogryns/Bullgryns: Similar role to Terminators/Meganobz
Militarum Tempestus Scions/Storm Troopers/Kaskrin Squad: Similar Role to Killteam Ironmaw
Veteran Guardsmen: New Character, Like normal guardsmen but with more access to arsenals and have better health and damage. Also looks different than other guardsmen

Leman Russ Vanquisher/Conqueror: Maybe make new character as tank commander

Light Infantry: Conscripts (Cheaper and weaker guardsmen but more unit in squad), Guardsmen

Rhino: Give Space Marines their own Transport vehicle ffs
Stormtalon Gunship or Bike Squad: Fast light vehicles for harrassment purposes
Give Scouts, Tactical Marines and Devastator more arsenal upgrades (Scouts get shotguns, Tactical get Melta and Grav-gun, Devesator get Plasma Cannon and missle launchers). Also advice removing the Lascannon Devestator (Let it be upgradable for Devestator) and the ability to give all tactical marines plasma guns (either upgrade only 1 or give them combi-plasma). Scout Snipers can stay.
Give Dreadnought ability to replace power fist with range weaponry

Redo the Tutorials: Basic can stay for those new to the genre but the advance and multiplayer tutorials are already easy to grasp and will become obsolete once new modes comes in. I recommend replacing them to be similar to tutorials in Dawn of War 1 where you have tutorials teaching you about different factions and letting players practice tactics against 1 AI player.
Give Factions Defensive structure for fortifications: Turrets exist in campaign and players should be able to build defenses on the battlefield
Doctrine Redone: There’s already people complaining about the grinding of the army doctrines so either lowering the cost to unlock or be able to find ways to make them easier to acquire may be beneficial
Balance Elite Cost: Some Elites could do with a lower Elite point cost but Elites should also cost requisition and energy to prevent easy force fights in matches
Let players earn experience when playing with Skirmishes: players are already generating skull currency in skirmishes and there’s no reason to look progression from offline battles considering campaign is already doing the majority of the experience unlocking.
Better Menu Navigation: Rework the menu to be more detailed without feeling cluttered. Server Browser should give more information, Elite page should give more information on etc
Better Army Painter design: While the army painter is already impessive as it is, it could use work on allowing a search bar for the paints, either bigger unit size or use a large single unit to show which paint affect which etc. Also should allow players to not only import custom emblems for armies but also be able to share army designs for others to share or for backup purposes.
Better Options choices: Most others have already mentioned this but you should allow players to decide screen size and either show or explain certain options that players can choose.
More Game mode customization: I do enjoy that you can choose the behavior of the AI but you can also expand on match options as well similar to DOW 1. Possible idea include limiting or excluding Elite Units from the match, stronger structures or units, remove tier limits, change population limit amount, remove base building in favor of Dawn of war 2 mechanics, etc. This will most likely happen when modding support is available.
Modding support: Duh
Cosmetic Skin DLC
Unlike others, I am willing to be open towards possible cosmetic DLCs that add massive visual changes to the Skin Packs on Dawn of War Retribution. The best price point for these should be between 5 to 10 dollars (Depending on quality) and should allow players to be able to feel like playing their favorite Space Marines Chapters, Chaos Space Marines Legions, Imperial Guard Regiments.
While not lore friendly, it would also be nice to allow players to be able to make custom armies with the same cosmetic skins on with different colors, emblems and name.
You can make them as separate from the base factions and give them their own unique units and structures but this will only be if you make them play completely different from the base factions
