I've been at it for a while now, and still cannot figure out how to make a new unit, for my mod. When I clone a unit and change the name, my mod automatically crashes at the start of every match. All the reference files between the squad/entity/spawner of building etc, are correct.
Example: (Note) The file structure here is not 100% accurate and is a simplified example.
Cloned EBPS and SBPS of tactical marine, renaming clones to sword marine.
These clones go to my mod.
(New name means new unit entity)
(Squad now consists of new unit entities, sword marines)
(Now Space marine HQ spawns this squad. I MODIFIED THE ANNIHILATION HQ to)
(Note) I even adjusted the icon position to make sure they don't overlap. Just so I can see the unit in the spawn table. And I do see it, but bug splat and frozen game is not cool. I also removed all unit or squad requirements, however requirements should not crash the game. It simply means I do not need to meet conditions to build the unit.
I do not understand why it doesn't work.
If I don't change the name of the cloned unit, it overwrites the In game unit. Essentially becoming a unit modification, and not a new unit. Perhaps the game is having trouble reading my new sword marine unit?
Is this a limitation of the mod tools? Any advice would be appreciated.
