Ok 3 spambots attack in a week, maybe time to securise forum now ?
Curiously it happens when SEGA/Relic is in way to make some announcement about feb contents. Maybe it disturbs some angry people ? ^^
Indeed, this never happened for a long time. Perhaps it is because of that anonymous review?
Honestly, I would like to Relic reveal now what will be that upcoming content, since it is now February, but I'm not sure if it is a big content or not. Still, I'm really curious about it.
It's that time of the year again? I always enjoy SpamBotness.
At least we know who not doing it
All that aside i dont think it has any effect but to disrupt or mislead so no real pain in just deleteing then put in more better security features to block or limit the the numbers of post to stop the small disruption from occuring over.
My knowledge of spam bots is limited so if thats not the most productive way of deleteing it or stoping disruption i would suggest just delete the bot post then we can countinue in our normal activity.
Spambots tend to come in waves, and are based on a number of entry points. There is only so much you can do to combat them without (severely) inconveniencing genuine new users. It's not a matter of "securing" the site, they register just like any other poster. Sometimes they're even registered manually (as supposed to via an automated script).
They'll always be around; this isn't the first time we've had some, and it won't be the last. Sometimes it's just not during usual NA / EU waking hours
Simply report, and move on. We'll take care of the rest!
