Personally I am looking forward to this game (please don’t bring the complaining to this thread) and for me the icing on the cake would be to have our Space Marine armies wearing the marks of armour that we choose rather than just Mark VII and Mark VI for assault squads, Mark III is my personal favourite and I don’t think it would be difficult for a few of the model and texture artists to make four bodies representing Marks II-V, three jump packs (Mark II and III share jump packs and power packs, MK V uses the MK II jump pack but not power pack) one chainsword, two bolt pistols, one flamer, one plasma gun, one heavy bolter, two lascannons and four bolters. I would be willing to buy this or a Horus Heresy skin pack as DLC if it also converted all the vehicles to the relevant marks.
Also an interesting feature would be randomised armour sections (shoulder pads, helmets, purity seals and so on) much like various mods have done in past dawn of war games, many portrayals of space marines in illustrations always strive to add little parts or differences to their armour that marks them out as unique in what I think is a symbolic attempt to prove the point of space marines as the “one soldier per thousand worlds” army (also please don’t complain about “Relic doesn’t care about the lore” there are hundreds of other threads to say such things on)
In any case I wish the Relic team the best of luck with the game.
What are your opinions on unit customisation or even Marks of armour?

You mean the same like in the Space Marine game? That one was cool, its just a shame that models are simplified like this, it is questionable how much you would manage to see on them, not to mention that apparently we are getting Starcraft 2 levels of zoom-in... At his point we should be happy if we get Elites customization.

kind of like in Space Marine but without that level of manual customisation as for an RTS that's a little extreme, i'm thinking more of a checkbox marked "Armour Randomization"
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that the ELITE mod uses the API introduced with the DLC's to inject the custom models, the ELITE level of customisation is directly a result of Relic's work towards customisation of units.
Anyway, units show so far in Dawn of War 3 have high poly models and large textures by RTS standards, they are not that simplified, the only "Simplification" is that Relic are going for physical proportions and colours present in the tabletop, feeding block colours into physically based shaders, if Relic at some point decide to add a grime layer to their textures then all the grumbles about simplification and "Starcraft of War 3" would disappear in an instant, also zoom depth can be modded if deemed unsatisfactory, take the Ultimate Apocalypse mod for instance.

Well, they sure look pretty, but those basic infantry models are a bit tiny comparing to what we are used to, and a lack of zoom doesn't help, just its not helpful that I'm really not a fan of mods. Zooming is probably limited because there's not much to be seen, sniff, sniff.
Btw, this was my fave armor model from Space Marine: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=173777881
No wonder it took the most effort to unlock it. Shame I don't have a better pic of it, at least I cannot find it in this forest of folders.

Obligatory images of armour marks, Note that all the images show Space Marines carrying Tigrus pattern Bolters

I would like to see the ability to design your own flag insignia similar to DoW 1.

When you mention what you think of the game sometimes a load of people come into the thread and complain about the game

we are likely to get an army painter with level upgrades on the units like I dow 2. I thought that was pretty cool. I think it may work better if after you unlock a armour set you can decide what units wear it.
