So basically there is a pc gamer article that says:

But then there is also a multiplayer review on youtube with some dude caliming he's been told by Relic that there will also be a victory points mode like in dow2 and coh2 at release.

Well to be fair its probably not as simple as just removing all turrets and the core. Because the game is probably balanced around the turrets affording some protection to the main base so some factions might be unable to defend properly if the enemies just show up at their base in early game. Or some units might be too strong in a straight up fight.
I'd prefer the victory points from coh2 and dow2. Though getting that to work might aslo be problematic because of similar issues.

Annihilation required you to destroy every single structure the enemy held (with some exceptions). That is "classic" RTS.
There's actually less of a difference between that and what we've seen of DoW III. The current game mode seems to be a blend of Annihilation and Destroy HQ.

I am here to put my voice among the masses in saying; Please give us elimination mode, please.
This moba like game mode looks great and fun to play, but I like diversity as well. Why restrict us to one game mode? Thats just writing of players who dont like that mode in rts, i can see why rts/dawn of war fans would be scared of by this news. I am actually for the fist time dissapointed in the game.
I just would love to see this game sell well so the extra races will get added in later.

I don't really care about having annihilation mode personally, but I feel like it should be included just to assuage the community, for customs at least.

Yeah sorry, but this is a terrible decision. This turret defense moba thing would have been a neat idea as a different mode of play in multiplayer but as the main mode? This isnt what I wanted at all.... if i want a good moba game I already have a ton to pick from. I was hyped for this game because I thought it was gonna give me something very different from that, something I have been craving for a long time, something there isnt a ton of available - TRADITIONAL RTS GAMEPLAY... in the awesome WH40k setting.......
What the hell is up with game devs these days they have to play everything so safe... look at whats popular and try and emulate it. Are you really lacking in creativity and confidence in your own ideas that you have to copy whats going on in other genres/games?
The RTS genre has been lacking for many years and instead of what could have been exactly what RTS thirsty fans wanted and maybe led to a resurgence of more RTS games you give us a watered down moba/rts clusterfuck.

IMO the problem with this mode is it limits the strategy deep of the game, you can't win early you have to mass an army ...I could be wrong all i need is a pro or dev 1v1 and take a decision I don't want to spend an hour every time I ranked 1v1.. thats something I like in rts you can win in 10-30 min max so you can play 2-3 matches in 1 hour but seeing this core, turrent thing I don't know... they did this thinking they will atract moba players but they ill not leave lol or dota for this.. however one of the IGN videos 8 minutes multiplayer I liked the action and game play but the core and turrent thing depress me.... it doesn't make any sense in a rts.. Im pretty sure rts player will demand a classic mode at it will be more popular than this...

the problem is the units,ability's,economy etc etc is probably all designed to work in conjunction with this tower defense style of play and huge changes would likely need to be made for it to function properly and be balanced as annihilation... i doubt its anything we will see anytime soon... all you will probably see for the months after release are custom skins you can buy. -_-

You're probably right. It might not be as simple as taking away those elements from the map. Also without these things the game might be completely unbalanced for all we know.

They already have the turret models in the game, just in the campaign mode, we saw them earlier. Just throw them in the MP as a starting base deffense to prevent early rushes, like in DoW2, and you got yourself the Annihilation mode. You have nearly two months for that, I don't want to sound unreasonable, but is it really that hard? People already had a lot to swallow regarding numerous changes, and now you launch the game without a single MP mode from the past, only this turret attack mode? Its going to be hard to go over that for the many.

Hey, relic, do you warrant that you will be add classic game modes in the future: capture point, annihilaton, the last stand? I think power core mode isn't bad, but not good as classic game modes.

Not to repeat myself Renner, but this is literally a blend of Destroy HQ and regular Annihilation. The only difference is the order certain things have to be destroyed in.
As for "why not just change the game mode", this affects map balance, racial matchups, pacing, ability to execute certain strategies, and so on. Maybe that's enough for you to be satisfied, and there's nothing to say Relic won't release something like this later down the line. But they evidently want this game mode tested thoroughly against the existing maps they've lined up for release.

I'm crying its not rts its mobarts hybrid.I might be realy awesome bonus mode but multiplayer in rts must have anihilation mode..And victory points mod were in both dow games so far.

I like the game mode.
It concentrates the action just like VP-Control did. In an evenly skilled player match this will mean some fierce fights for these Objectives with a lot back and forth. Good Action for me.
I never was a fan of annhilation anyways.
If they add it later thats fine for me. Also the classic VP would be nice.

watching a 1v1 game play video, I only saw 2 requisition points in the entire map... mehhh so you don't figh for req like the previus games, and you can't even harras the enemy base kinda boring..

U got naturals double power and requisition close to base. One doubl req and one double power an center is req power and elite point.

and how do you get to the naturals? or how you desrtoy the enemy barracks? or do some harras to the enemy base ? you can't because there is a %$#$#! tower in the middle of the base making the game boring and slow

Then i recommend you to play Starcraft.
And by the way...you can harras buildings even with that turret, just not that easy.
But as it is possible to place a Base anywhere, you may encounter one to destroy more easily. Especially in the case of Eldars Webway buildings.

Why not recommend me DOW1? or company of heroes? I thought those games were great you know.. relic made them.. lol this is like 40% RTS and 60% moba, I was defending this game the whole time until now they destroyed the multuplayer with this mode

Sorry, but i think you are exaggerating here.
There have been modes like destroy HQs in RTS before. The shields are there to prevent rushes. So i can't really agree with your numbers here.
