I'll be buying this game, no doubt. But as many people have already expressed, the marketing hasn't been very strong and there's so many things that can be done better or developed further to gain more interest in this game. Especially from people who might not be interested in RTSxMOBA.
The first thing that comes to mind is videos and education pieces that highlight what the game is capable of, what it's all about and how it works.
These two SC2 videos were created 9 years ago...and give a perfect example of explaining and marketing what the game is all about.
This is the first big RTS game being launched in a long time that incorporates so many things, that in my opinion, will be a great success. But to take it further, the developers should really consider more education videos to bring in a wider audience.
Using the idea that:
Just a thought. Can't wait for open beta.

We have 3-2 weeks left. If Relic wants to promote the game to old and new fans, they better start doing something like this

Man those video's are great. Would be amazing if something like that would be done for DoW 3. Provides so much clarity.

You mean like this:
or like this?
???

Aye! But then for everything! Doctrines, Elite picking, Tactical use of units and building placement etc!

Those aren't bad.
But where to start..
they're 8 months old and we all know how much the game has changed since then, graphically and gameplay wise..
Look at the first comment.

hmmmm, not sure about this new direction, the graphics and the gameplay looks a bit bland, it's kinda lacking in the 40k Dawn of War feel. And dont get me started on the god ++heresy redacted++ cover bubbels....
they only help RTS players that actually know what they're doing, if any new RTS player watched that video I would have no doubt they would get overwhelmed with information as there's so many visual cues everywhere
Another good recent example:

What to do?
Well, since open beta just announced, that would be a perfect segway into drawing new customers in. But all we got was a release statement, not even a open beta announcement video highlighting:
Again, all I'm saying is that this game has huge potential to rank up and gain momentum on twitch, and with that, more players. But if there isn't any ongoing easily digestible education then the player base won't be what it could be and also might not be a huge e-sports title they're aiming for.

My voice sounds like a deeply autistic robot but I'm going to give it a go with some basic outlines of mechanics and resourcing. I'll give it a whirl over the course of the beta to see what sticks.
I feel like this is an obvious thing to be overlooked. I would be very suprised if they haven't already snagged In.Control or some one to do these sort of tutorial videos and they are just waiting for the beta to unleash them

Just tell relic not use the word Moba anymore and the game will succeed.. try to make a RST/Moba and none will be playing after 2 months

CA also did this so much better with TW:W, always posting short walkthroughs and longer streams explaining the game mechanics and showing off the factions. Imo it's very much worth it investing in someone who can do regular video content for PR / information purposes.

At first I thought that op was going to be just ranty, however after reading I must say that I agree with what is being said both in op and in the subsequent posts saying that they will probably do videos like these over the course of the open beta

I don't think any of that is any relevant at the moment. Right now Relic did the the best thing there could be: announced open beta. If game appears solid, it will sell like hotdogs on NFL match, if not - bye bye Relic, simple is that. Some videos and advertisement is nice, but game has too much discord to it, and advertisement won't help like in case it would for StarCraft, because everyone pretty much knew on announcement date of SC2 what they were getting into. DoW 3 is still a mystery in more ways then one.
And yes. Thank you, Relic! I'll be really glad to have an ability to check it before buying, it's a big thing, really. Hope I won't miss it.

So do you want the company ++heresy redacted++ up what you can explore in the game?
Come on, we are warhammer 40k, to explore for yourself is better than see it in a boring video for noobs who dont know even how to play a RTS.
And stop with the MOBA ++heresy redacted++, this is RTS if you dont like it, go ++heresy redacted++ yourself with Heroes of the storm or League of Legends

Spoken like a 15 year old who needs to draw some sense of elitism from a video game. This isn't about your personal feelings, it's about making the game a success for everyone. The bottom line is this, the more people who play the game the more funding it gets, and the more funding it gets the more units and races we ALL get.
Silk
Seems like Relic actually heard you, OP!
