Hello, this is my feedback to the second closed beta that only represents my personal opinion and ideas so it might not be the be-all and end-all solution, but some critique and ideas you might want to (re)consider. I am a former Starcraft 2 1v1 Zerg Masters player and advanced Dota 2 player. My RTS experience reaches back to the original Command and Conquer and Warcraft 2 from 1995, i began playing competitively with Starcraft - Brood War and Warcraft 3 and i will value Gameplay over Lore and W40k logic as i am not an expert anyways. :P
Gameplay and -Design
The combination of moba and conventional rts elements is innovative and i really like the idea. I am aware the game mode has to mature in its design and will not be perfect right out of the gate. Overall i think the philosophy and approach of making an accessible rts for everyone that also can be competitive can work if you keep on tweaking the design while communicating with both the highly competitive playerbase and in lack of a better word more “casual” community. I am a bit concerned about the lack of mentioned communication and might hold off on buying the game for now.
Currently I will not give feedback on specific units and balance between those as i only have the experience of two weekend betas and things are prone to bugs. You have more reliable data available anyways.
The biggest culprit for me personally is the game pacing and partly unrewarding gameplay.
I find the game generally plays too slow, by that i mean movement and animation speed of most units. Because of that its way harder to counterplay/dodge abilities than to use them.
