Hello, this is my feedback to the second closed beta that only represents my personal opinion and ideas so it might not be the be-all and end-all solution, but some critique and ideas you might want to (re)consider. I am a former Starcraft 2 1v1 Zerg Masters player and advanced Dota 2 player. My RTS experience reaches back to the original Command and Conquer and Warcraft 2 from 1995, i began playing competitively with Starcraft - Brood War and Warcraft 3 and i will value Gameplay over Lore and W40k logic as i am not an expert anyways. :P
I am not the biggest fan of the scaleform ui regarding the flat art design and vibrant colors but it does cover almost every information needed and i like how we can enable/disable parts of it.
Room for improvement:
Make unit tooltips more detailed by showing extensive info when a modifier (ALT) is held. I would like to see raw numbers ingame
for Healing amount, Stasis and Spell Duration and Casting points.
The top bar showing Power Core Health for both teams feels pointless. In RTS games we can and have to reposition our camera
location constantly anyways. Free up the space completely or use it to show additional info about teammates, as the minimap does
not reveal much about them. Ideas could be Elite Health and Respawntimer, Army Strength and Ultimate Cooldown. It is important
though that these infos dont clutter the screen, so maybe it should be a hotkeyable dropdownmenu.
Healthbars are a little bit too slim for my taste, especially on smaller screens. On my 22’ monitor (yea, lol) its sometimes a bit
strenuous on the eyes. Shield bars are ok, Health and Construction bars could be a bit bigger. The icons that display army type,
doctrines and buffs/debuffs are generally well done and easily readable.
