i am surprised about that people are surprised that jonah orion is alive
i knew if librarians are in the game it's going to be him
I think it was because we saw him napping in the last battle and then he was mentioned. I really don't think relic planned to have him back but it was easier than designing a new character and probably some of the "black guys never survive jokes" were hitting them.
About the hero sizes, since this game is not going to follow certain rts tropes I think since they are making something new they should bwe able to increase hero sizes for clarity in large battles.
it instantly identifies the hero units to anyone who is no a Warhamer fan. it means selecting the unit I'm the larger battle is. pretty much a moba style but not we much as Dow 2 which was squad moba. while if doesn't look as immersive we will get used to it. though I'm sure they could of found another way then making the huge

Yes like librarian terminator armor.
Oh so you mean like Gabe right?
Oh dear not another ballerina in terminator armour

agreed if we get a terminator Armour he will still do the jump and then we have a bigger problem
But do we really? The warp can do strange things to reality. More believable then Gabriel jumping around... Actually. Gabriel is likely a heretic, and the jumping is done via sorcery.
I'm not the biggest 40k table top lore guy but that Cherub looks ~heresy redacted~ god aweful, the servo skulls looked good in the previous games but its another ~heresy redacted~ idea that they have come up with imo to make the heros have more 'clarity'.
"Im not sure they will be able to distinguish that the model is a Libarian....maybe add a floating baby just to your can REALLY notice him ok?"
I dont get it, why do they think visibility is a problem?
We had 2 games already that proved you dont need wacky animations nor them being oversized. Then again could it be because of the small scale of things?
They seem to be obsessed with clarity, like more is always better. They remind me of ignorant politicians that think they can rectify anything as long as the economy grows. There's a limit to how much clarity is needed, especially if they have to sarcifice mechanics or screw with the animations. I've yet to meet someone who can explain to me why exactly a silly looking jump is the epitome of clarity.

Yup. They're bffs anyways and if Gabe's cartwheeling now might as well have his buddy don the same armor and do cheerleader jumps. :v

( i remember something about a librarian dreadnought that was able to fly back in the old codexes )
Ignore anything written by Matt Ward.
i think it was before matt wards time , sinse we are talking about messed up things i also remember something about Half human half eldar Librarian for Ultramarine ( a table top rule i think )
(just so i am clear just because i said some wierd $#!t i found out about in the old codexes that doesn't justify whats happening in the game right now.)

The flying librarian dreads were mentioned in the Codex: Blood Angels (5E) which I'm pretty sure was written by Matt Ward in 2010.
Yeah, I think the Human-Eldar hybrid became chief librarian and astropath or UM. Well, he didn't really, as it is old and very very very NOT CANON anymore :P

thanks for the info my memory is a wee bit sluggish these days
i am just afraid that relic would somehow take these stuff as a excuse for more clarity reasons even though they are no longer cannon
I don't think they confirmed any definite number or Elites but there will definitly be more. One that is comfirmed is an Imperial Knight that focuses on melee combat ("Paladin") and the squad of Assault Terminators in the footage from PAX and Gamescom is counted as Elite Unit as well. Since it was said that your loadout of Elites will be an important factor in defining your strategy, i peronally would be disappointed with anything less then 6 for each faction. (3 can be deployed in a battle.) But again, no official numbers that i'd know of.

Are there going to be more SM Elite Units? Or do we "only" get, Angelos, Solaria, Jonah? (besides assault termies of course)...
There will be more! For instance, we've already let it slip that we have a Venerable Dreadnought and a Knight Paladin on the way, and there will be more surprises in store for you at launch.

Nice. Hope there will be at least as much elite units as coh2 commanders at launch.

That is a cherub familiar. They are certainly a 40k thing.
Good old 40k, most ridiculous thing under the sun and some of the fans don't even realise it.
Psychodrake
I actually quite like the cherub and I think the model is fantastic, but I can already see it moving around like a looney tunes character.
Zimbo123
Did anyone notice he had what looks like a daemon's head on his chestplate (which covers up the imperial eagle)?
Maybe he's not what he appears to be...

Sorry to be that guy but that's one of the generic librarian symbols, there is one on the belt of the guy I posted earlier.
Tigurius also likes them.
I quite like the familiar myself, whether they added it for "clarity" or not. Maybe when chaos is added we'll get a spiky one.
Zimbo123
Thanks for clearing that up @Auric and no worries!
WarEagle
would be nice if librarian(if possible) and eldar psyker units have gyrinx as there familiar
Zimbo123
That's pretty cool, didn't even know they had these!

Yes it would be pretty nice actually.
