Hello. Here are my specs:
AMD Radeon HD 7870
Intel Core i7-2600K @ 3.40 GHz (8 CPUs)
x64 bit computer
So I got DoW2 with Chaos Rising installed with it, but my FPS seems to be hanging at around 40. Changing graphics options doesn't seem to do anything drastic. I tried the lowest settings, disabling everything possible, but it is still around 40 fps. The FPS varies according to the situation, going as low as 15 sometimes to 70. On the menu screen, it is at 40 fps.
Now the reasons why it is unusual are these:
-The specs are good enough for this game.
-The game is supported by AMD instead of Nvidia.
-I can run other games quite well. I do not tolerate any game that is below 60 fps, so I do look into the specs. This game isn't supposed to be so demanding for its age.
Here is the interesting part that proves that something very specific is wrong here. My friend has an Nvidia GTX 950 card, and the rest are on par with my computer's specs (he also has 16 GB of ram though). He can run this game at around 100 fps on default settings, which were high as I remember for him.
The weird part is, he runs Fallout 4 with 40-50 fps, while I run it at constant 60 fps (or above). But when it comes to this game, it is all reversed. And it is weird because this game was supposed to run the best on AMD cards. So I suspect the culprit to be the game hating my video card. Or maybe the game somehow limits itself from taking available needed resources. To point out: I do not tolerate games running below 60 fps, so this problem is only with this game. I have checked if the game is blocked by firewall or has any problems with my anti-virus (Avast), but no problem was there.
If anyone knows a fix to this, please tell me. I really want to get into this game but 40 fps is pathetic.
