First post, long time DoW player.
Seems to me that DoW 3 is the most "unfriendly" single player game in the series so far, unless I am missing something because I am still very new to DoW3 like most no doubt, I mean I hope I am missing something and this isn't just what it actually is...
But from a single player / lone player (not multiplayer) pov, once one finishes the Campaign...how does one 'level' their elites and unlock everything?
Do elites only gain XP from the campaign and in online multiplayer battles (I know they don't get XP from custom AI battles but do get very little skull currency).
Am I missing something here maybe someone can clear it up for me.
Can I redo the campaign with the current elites at their current levels to increase their levels higher, some of them I finished the campaign without even raising them above level1!
Right now I'm feeling pressured into playing a side of the game I don't want to for the sake of 'finishing' my 'elites' (max level all unlocks).
Really hope I am wrong...

You do get xp from custom online matches, and you can put yourself up against the AI there!
However I would recommend you try some team games just for the glory of battle, do not care if you lose. Just go out there to have fun.

I shy away from multiplayer games I'm certainly not a sore loser at all but it seems the majority are "leetists" who take the fun from the game.
Try and "farm you" for their elites.
Try and "bullrush you" for the same purpose as above.
It's to "rushed" for my actual enjoyment...I knew there HAD to be a way for singleplayers to "complete" their elites without having to play other players, also I'm not sure how the balancing system works out in multiplayer I have seen posts in that forum about it and people seem to show great concern for "leetists" who simply have better armies because they have unlocked 'more' for their armies/elites these posts seem to revolve around new people coming in later who are not 'unlocked' yet and won't generally stand a chance against fully unlocked elites/armies.
When I play DoW I (which is the series I play the most) I enjoy sitting back and building a "fort" with multiple same buildings (a.k.a HQ's etc) in an OCD sort of way...with multiple turrets surrounding me and then slowly building up the biggest force with the best upgrades and then (normally after about an hour) I go in to "clean" the map.
But thanks for the heads up about custom online AI matches earning XP certainly going to give that a go now

It worked =] (the Online Custom AI battle) I got my elites some XP now I can still play this game to unlock everything!

you can play the mission again after you are done, to farm the exp

Rushing is actually the worst tactic if your trying to farm xp for elites. I find 3vAI is best method just set them up and let the ai send wave upon wave of enemies just sock up the xp.
