I'm working to convert almost ALL of the Campaign's single player maps into viable multiplayer maps for the community to enjoy. These are pulled through from the game, tweaked and modified to be conducive to multiplayer, and set loose.
I'm in need of some testers.
The maps are naturally asymmetrical as they weren't build for multiplayer in mind, but offer an unequaled battlefield to play with if we can get things down.
I need three or four people to make suggestions on resource placement and spacing to make these maps more competition friendly, and I'd be sincerely thankful.
I was disappointed with some of the vanilla stock launch maps, and I feel like the workshop may help player retention for a game that I love.
Just shoot me a PM or reply here if you're interested in helping me tweak these in your free time!
Here's the collection of maps on the workshop
Return to Helios (3v3)
Return to Charon (3v3)
Fight for Cyprus (3v3)
I'm working on making some 2v2 maps, but scrubbing the mission objective / original intent is very time consuming. I don't have time to test these maps twenty times each.
Thank you!
P.S, I've also made a separate thread explaining how to lift the .sga files for editing in the world builder if you'd like to do what I'm doing.

I'll have some free time this Friday and over the weekend. I'll see if I can help out around then.

Much appreciated!

I'm also needing some help testing a newer 1v1 map: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=927193913
I've had two people tell me they can't load the game and have trouble getting feedback on it.
I've noticed a lot of my maps don't work outside their intended groups. All my 3v3 maps tend to goof up if someone only plays with four players. Anyone have some insight as to why that is?

Being blunt here I AM highly interested in community maps, but I am highly uninterested in any asymmetrical maps. I've looked at a few of the random community maps, most appear to be just tests, but the few that aren't seem to be pretty asymmetrical. Like I saw a map of the first Ork Campaign mission (IDK if this was yours) and it seemed literally unplayable.
The game balance on such maps is so suspect, many having obvious flaws. Now will there be people who will play your maps? Sure, but the amount of people you can reach will be substantially smaller.

Thanks for doing this Sigmatus. I'd like to help but the workshop isn't behaving for me right now.
Couldn't the maps be made symmetric by reflecting their best portions?
Sigmatus
I understand. I have the asymmetrical disclaimer to stop people from wondering why resource points aren't always perfectly mirrored. With just as many people wanting those even maps, I like maps that have resource nodes attached to places of interest around the map, so long as they aren't entirely nonsensical.
Here's my collection, which might have the map you were talking about: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=927197124
Mephrit's Redoubt and Perturabos Prize are more in line with a fair experience and used extensive ruler tools to measure out resource distances. (hopefully) It'll appeal to people looking for maps closer to DoW3's stock vanilla maps for multiplayer.
Sigmatus
Anything is possible!
Right now I'm interested in coaxing maps into being symmetrical from a ruler point of view i.e resource nodes 1 and 2 are always spaced X distance away from each player to make sure no one has capital first just from teamchoice. I do, though, want to keep some of the structural differences to make it /feel/ like each section is unique without them being advantageous to one player or another.
Cutting straight down the middle and mirroring part of the map requires extensive work, and I'd have to redo all the splats, splines, decals, terrainheight, NIS animations and objects. They don't currently have a mirror tool if that's what you mean.

Fight for Cyprus doesn't download a map file for me or a friend. Steam does a quick 4.4mb download when I unsub/sub but no folders are created in C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\Dawn of War III\mods\scenarios\subscriptions.
Your other maps are here though.
Sigmatus
Thanks. I updated some props in it today using a method someone else mentioned to update it properly to workshop, looks like it didn't go through. I'll get working on it.

I poked around in the editor for a bit. The stamp tool seems to work. I created a stamp by box selecting some map objectives then hitting create stamp. A stamp "00000001" was created in the Temp folder at the bottom, which I could place with a right click and hitting enter.
I can't figure out how to manipulate the gizmo, but using "Random rotation" does give you what it says, so it's definitely possible. Might have to mash the keyboard for a bit. Anyway the point is reflecting a map without tediously copying every bit of detail should be possible thereby.
Let me know if you figure it out.

Asymmetry in games makes me really happy, actually, so I'm going to see if I can get a friend or two to grab these maps to play around on. I haven't committed nearly enough time to this game yet to consider myself competitive, but I'd be happy to give whatever feedback I come up with if you'd like.
Sigmatus
That'd be great, thank you!

Could you test to see if you're able to download v2 Cyprus successfully?
