Woot finally worked out how to get map editor working.
so i definatley on the run to make a couple remakes of** bloord river**- this be first one i do since it easiest x, battle marshes , fallen city and outer reaches.
will attempt to make these directed towards professional play, since im still learning the editor it will take some time, i'll keep update with first glimp's
(at the moment i have no idea how to let other people download the maps so once i find link or somone tells me here)

not much to look at but this is version 22 something, basically looking at what map size is generally good.

I was attempting to remake the old DoW 1 map Doom Spiral for 2v2. It looks horrid so if some person with talent remade it I'd be forever grateful.

i think 99% is just patience, blood river ive taken a day to just sketch out the outline and find the right feeling size. even so i somewhat think that it might be too big yet still, hopefully not LOL, 512,512 used to be dow1 and dow2 1vs1 size but in dow3 comparative to structure sizes it somewhat MASSIVE ... doing some teidious detail stuff (just a wall..)

Suddenly I'm really interested to see how custom maps position the objectives to create interesting scenarios. For example, wrapping a defensible cliff face around the back of a shield gen that is also layered with turret cover, potentially enabling a much easier defense. Or simply layering the Turret cover over the Shield Gen to defend against melee unit harass. Organization of capture points could also be interesting, such as each player having a 4-6 point Power cap right inside their base, with req caps scattered throughout the map (a more a la DoW 1 style set-up).
I feel like there are a lot of interesting possibilities.

with this one im generally trying to stick to the "resource" level's players are used to.
the current map im lending 1 side to be power and the other req allowing for scouting of builds etc

That is still useful to have available for other map makers to play test and realise how big is too big and the consequences thereof.
Otherwise there will be ongoing requests for bigger maps

Sorry, you might not want to. I don't want to pressurise you. People will be critical and you might only want to put your best maps up.
I think you go into steam workshop and upload it there.
Or you could just put it on Dropbox for other map makers to use so you don't have to publish it.

Is it possible to use those bridge things that are used in the campaign? I forgot the level names but the light bridges and the floating rock ones. Is it possible to have something like that in a multiplayer map? Where you have to do something to activate a bridge or allow for easy access out of a base but can be closed off whenever? I just think it would be cool if there could be secondary objectives to try and go for that are off the beaten path or something.

there are 3 "highly contested" points, the outer ive got Elite point generators the middle i thought about having more, then found there either a hardcap earn rate but doesnt stack above 2, so changed it into 2 req, 2 power but really need play testing.
really at the moment just shoving cliff edges on.

You should then be able to upload the resulting SGA through the Steam Workshop interface either in the native Steam app or their website?

Sure, but does the last paragraph help you at all? What part of the upload to the Workshop process are you having issues with? I've only ever released content for Civilisation, and that has an integrated uploader bundles with the tools Firaxis provides.

Okay I've worked it out and it's uploaded as "scenario3" not sure how to rename it as he file is called blood River. You got to to enable it public via the ingame icon.
