Seriously, Dawn of war 2 had some of the best music I have ever listened to in a game. The emotional resonance the tracks created was fantastic, and really made the multiplayer matches come alive
Listening to tracks such as
or
While my units desperately screamed that they were engaged with the enemy, the victory point tracker was at 50, and my announcer was telling me that "we must forestall the coming doom" created some of my most memorable gaming moments. Right now I listen to these tracks in the background, but dow3 really could use some good music!

Dawn of War 3 does have some good music too, it's just that for some reason they decided not to play any of it during a multiplayer match.
Maybe because of their hidden eSport ambitions, they figured people wouldn't want music playing over a commentator when it came to watching replays, but that has never ever really been an issue because there was never anything stopping somebody turning the music off in options before watching a replay.

Yeah, the campaign does have some pretty good music, but MP is eerily quiet.

Tinfoil hats are all the rage this season.
Also, I think the music is actually really good in DoW 3. Odd that it wouldn't be in MP matches, but if you pluck the actual tracks and listen to them, they have really good vibes.

Yeah, the multiplayer music is a bit too ambient; you only ever hear any surges whenever you summon/kill/lose elites, it seems.
It's kinda weird to me because the sound design and direction has continued to be pretty good, but it seems like the voices and sound effects push the music into the background, whereas things felt pretty even in DoWII (and even DoW1).
On a bit of a side note, I feel like the game hasn't quite matched the sheer volume and detail of DoW2's voice work, which made the battles feel more alive than any RTS I've played. I still marvel at your basic units having ten or more minutes' worth of context-sensitive dialogue for just about every situation possible. I was always a bit bummed out that DoW2 didn't get much appreciation for its audio work (though I think it might have won an award or two, so maybe I'm blowing things out of proportion).
And yes, the Eldar music in DoW2 was absolutely fantastic. It was almost mournful but steely and purposeful and full of emotion.

The who e sports ambitions talk is nonsense. Star craft has music playing as well during the game. Relic needs to fix this because music helps some people get in,the jam. Srsly those that dont want it can mute it. Atm you dont hear anything in this game.

There is still great musik in dow3. But for reason they never played them

I really like Dow 3's soundtrack. It's unfortunate that as others have mentioned there that the mp is eerily quiet.

One of my fave tracks.
