I'm not sure if I am one of the few experiencing this, as I haven't seen much of this issue discussed on steam or on the official forums, but the game seems to be nearly unplayable offline. I say nearly unplayable because the game will freeze every 20 - 40 seconds for about 10 seconds at a time ~ as if it is trying to reconnect or validate something. I have a brother and two friends that own the game who also experience this issue.
Does anyone have any comments or suggestions?

Maybe you should lower your graphics settings. When I set them too high I started to experience something similar in online games as well.

My graphic settings and hardware are not the issue. This issue concerns offline play only. I play online with max settings above 60 fps. The periodic freezing only occurs when I play offline.

well I was traveling a bit and got my notebook with me and I tried this offline and didnt have any problem, some more info would be nice ... does it happen in game, menu, 3v3 1v1 certain maps races, offline you mean no connection or steam offline etc

It happens when I run steam in offline mode (while still having internet connection) and when I actually have no internet connection.
It occurs on every map and only in game. 1v1 - 3v3 doesn't affect anything as the freezing happens regardless.

AGEMMON says that occurs with internet connection enabled but steam offline so thats' not the matter

Actually, it occurs for me regardless of whether or not I have internet connection & regardless of whether steam starts in online or offline mode.
If I start steam in offline mode and play, the stuttering / freezing issue will occur. If I start the game in online mode, lose internet connection and continue playing in an offline state, the stuttering / freezing issue will occur.

That's weird even if the game need to connect to Relic server that would says that your disconnected and waiting to reconnect, not causing freezing problem.
Have u checked your firewall? What kind of internet speed you do u have? Have u tried without your antivirus?
I mean i have no idea what causing that but if i had this i would try to eliminate as many possibilities as i can.
