A part of me is overly excited for the 31st but i feel the damage has been done. I will try to remain optimistic and hope this patch is massive and ambitious in scope. I honestly hope it over corrects things, or changes the meta completely. Pretty much put me on a bike for the first time without training wheels again. Hoping possibly they will be more transparent in the future about dlc/content which i feel is extremely lacking at the moment and honestly should be worked on in the future for the community. People dont mind dealing with annoyances or issues as long as they are being assured. (for the most part)
Maybe you guys could do a youtube video series before/after every patch about the state of the game and what your thoughts are and how to change things. The comments could help serve you as we will give you our thoughts on it. Just a thought, and hopefully to see more feedback from the developers!

I think alot of this doom saying is what makes alot of people doubt this game for no reason. Its contagious and i really dont know why the OPs that post this think its going to help the game one bit. I hear things like "The damage is already done" "Game is dying" "The earth is flying towards the sun cuz the steam charts! etc etc etc". People need to be more optimistic and its good that you are going to be optimistic about it too.
Cursed
well, if the activity on the forums of this game vs previous dow games is anything to go by then the outlook is not good.
Draconix
Me too is doubtful of Dow3's success, but I will buy and play it regardless. Also I remember Grey Goo getting its new faction, when it had already low playercount at that moment. Still its low count didn't prevented me from buying this game. I don't regret purchasing it, because I like this game, though sad that won't get its new content, but who knows.
As for Dow3, I will buy this game too, but I have to accept the fact, that there won't probably new content, but whatever. Supcom 2 didn't gotted new content, except Infinity War dlc, and yet didn't regretted buying this. I have currently 166 hours in that game, even finished campaign second time recently.
Of course it would be positively suprising for me if Dow3 would get a new content, especially a new faction, because I like having more factions in RTS.
CANNED_F3TUS
DoW 2 got shat on as well so im guessing it will be the same outlook. But Relic still has the ball to make fixes. Its up to players too tk make the best of it.
CANNED_F3TUS
DoW 3 will get content. No doubt probably working on a new race or 2 as we speak but are keepin it secret. Relic just has to roll out patches and good ones at that.
Ritual
how long i must w8 new races pff and this balance sh-t
wongtp
a little optimistic but nothing more. given their track record at patching. if theres any positives changes without a new game breaking bug/destructive meta, color me surprised.

lack of community interaction is deadly and I consider it a big deal from devs, so sadly I'm skeptical. That the patch has hyped up a lot of fixes/everything. Personally I haven't played in a month as there isn't a point to but I do hope for this game.
redScare
That Relic delayed the patch a week actually gave me some hope that they're tackling the game balance issues but... I'm skeptical too.
TOGgledShot
I think a lot of people agree with this sentiment. I personally will still be playing the game because I know where it has the potential to go, regardless of the naysayers. I am waiting to see what this new patch brings.

Not sure about bugs, but meta should 100% change. If you nerf / change units then people will work to find new cheese, new spam, whatever, and the meta will shift. That is what we want right, get away from the ranger spam, ASM spam, DA spam?
Draconix
Indeed, people likes winning so much, that they will do whatever just to win easily, even if it means cheesing, spaming or even ocassionally using cheats or exploits. Sad that everyone thinks only about winning, because it gives them fun, even if real fun doesn't actually lie in winning and beating own opponent.

This line of reasoning is intellectually questionable. It's self-serving cognitive bias where you've externalized the game's problems by blaming it on arbitrary "haterz" rather than accepting the more likely/reasonable possibility that folks just don't like the product that was delivered. The players who bought the game ignored the "haterz" and tried the game themselves. They didn't stick around because they didn't like what they got and they left bad reviews for the same reason.
You're essentially trying to say that folks put down $60 to buy a game, fully expecting to hate it, just so they could leave bad reviews on Steam. It's a tired and frankly ridiculous argument.
Gorb
People explicitly, factually, did do that. Their level of impact if of course impossible to define. But it happened. Some folks even boasted about it on the Steam forums.
Much like there are absolutely people who were genuinely disappointed by the product. But pretending either demographic doesn't exist is cognitive bias in both cases (most anecdotal observations suffer from it, including my own), so let's not throw around that phrase unless we're going to apply it universally. Opinion post.

You can also buy the game, post a review then refund it if you played less than 2 hours as far as i know which seems as to what happend alot.
Draconix
And this is why in my opinion steam refund system is easy to abuse, making steam reviews not reliable at all. In my opinion review should be possible after playing it after equal or later time than refund limit, not earlier.
Pringworm
Refund Time if patch notes are weak.
Draconix
And how much time you had with Dow3? Just wanting to know.
Pringworm
Over 100 hours. But I only needed 5 to realize that Dark Crusade/Soul Storm was as good as it gets with relic.
Draconix
Bad luck then for you. You can refund only under 2 hours in. Sorry, but Steam has own rules. And you should stick with them, even if you consider them as silly.
Jachal
Should we do the same for restaurants? Eat every bite of a disgusting meal just so we can write a comprehensive review? We should own a car for 5 years before we write a review?
Pringworm
Well even if I can't get a refund, it will just go down as another bad sequel to a great game. I could go back playing classic. About the same population from the looks of the UI.
Draconix
You can disagree with me and you have the right to it. However I still think that buying the game only to leave a review and then refund is unhealthy practice made mostly by haters.
Even if this is a bad game for everyone, I can still enjoy playing it. The point is to get using to it eventually.
Draconix
Yes its sad that the game will probably fail. But I will buy it and play it regardless. I enjoyed open beta and it is that, what matters to me. As for classic, could go back, but I played it enough to ever return. Besides I prefer to move with a time's spirit. So I will stay now with Dow3. Even if it is maybe a bad game for everyone, I at least found it interesting like Dow 1 and 2 as well.
As for ending, I prefer campaign and skirmish over multi, so even if there won't be probably new content, I won't regret buying this game at all.
Pringworm
Remember when Jay Wilson was on board. Jesus.
Pringworm
I must not remember it right then. At least he went on to Diablo........oh maybe that's what I am thinking of.
CANNED_F3TUS
Haha. I doubt alot of the haters even bought the game.
And i know the game has problems. People just dont know how to support a game anymore and rather see it burn to the ground than stick with it through thick and thin. 90% of the arguments are people, talking out of their ++heresy redacted++ or stopped playing after a few games and dubbed it depthless etc etc. It has balance issues but those things will be fixed.
