The Dawn of War III live server will be going down at 8 AM PDT on Wednesday, May 31st to deploy some server-side bug fixes in advance of tomorrow's patch. Estimated downtime is 60 minutes.
@Kidzin We're rolling out a new way to show patch notes more visually on the website. I don't know about you, but going through a long list of bullet points can make it hard to pick out the changes that are important to you. It's a big change for us in the backend, and that means a lot of learning in how best to implement the system itself and present a hierarchy of information in a way that's easy to scroll through. There are a lot of balance changes and bug fixes, so it's especially important to get it right.
As we iron out the inner workings of the system, we may be in a position to post patch notes earlier than the live date. I don't have an ETA, though!
@Kat_RE If you could pass along that we would all prefer them allocating those resources toward further game support/balance fixes instead of patch note formatting, we'd all be very appreciative. lol
@Kat_RE I know it's more work but a lot of players are often interested in why changes are being made as much as the changes themselves. Comments on the balance goals behind changes would be really welcome.
@Kat_RE I don't see any reason why it should be necessary to differ from the format we've all become accustomed to from other games in this genre and similar genres.
Any Particular Focus Of This Patch (For example, Doctrines)
Bullets if necessary
General Changes
Bullets (Example, changes to how Pathing works for all units)
Particular Changes (Such as everything done to the Orks race)
Bullets (Example, change to the stats of Shoota Boyz)
@Ekko_Tek We've included design intentions into the patch notes! We did this during the closed beta and loved to read the balance discussions that formed around them.
@Korica If you prefer, the Steam news post uses the classic bullet point format.
Could you please make it at least a couple of hours in advance due to necessity to know what will we encounter and save time of playing skirmish to get know everything and proceed straight to multiplayer.

That's great news! Looking forward to the patch and the new notes format!

Do not be so hasty. Patch notes will be delivered when server will be down and you have one hour to read all patch notes
Let's be patient. In fact, I played in DoW from DC and it's more faster balance patch I even see in series.
Also, it's intesting to look at 'new way to show patch notes more visually on the website'.
Finally the patch will be there but I'm a bit concerned as I read "It will be a lot of balance changes" ... puh Relic. You did the same with CoHs and DoWs. It never worked out good. It's better to change a few things see how it works and then change other things. If you change everything in one patch, you get a complete new game. Balance is a system, and if you re-work the old system to a complete new one, you will never fix the flaws. But let's hope the best

I understand your point sir. I am of the (unpopular) opinion that actually the balancing seems to be pretty good taking into consideration that this is a release-state. So having a lot of balance changes might see intimidating. However, I believe that this will also include rebalancing the doctrines and elite doctrines (maybe maps as well?) which are indeed in a pretty bad shape right now - this would explain why they're saying it's a "lot". I'm excited one way or another (if only we could get patch notes earlier...)

My predictions are becoming reality.

Where can we find the patch notes?
Kat_RE
@CourtJester They will be posted tomorrow at 8 AM PDT on our website and as a Steam news post.
CourtJester
Great, thanks for the update.
Kidzin
Fairly unusual to wait with posting patch notes until it goes life, any particular reason behind that?
Kat_RE

I hope it will be really strong balance patch.

Are there going to be mechanical changes to the way the game works as well or just balance and bug fixes?

Thank you for providing some insight :-)
