I honestly think this would help a tonne with increasing popular impressions of the game.
Indrid did some fantastic work for dow2 but he seems to have lost interest in dow3 for whatever reason.
WE NEED SOMEONE TO FILL THIS VOID
There are some good casters out there but they typically do a mish mash of games or cast predominantly their own games......
So who's gonna do it? Who is going to step up and become our official community caster?

Agreed! Looking through @2Sk3TCHY's stuff is actually really good.

Yeah, I'll +1 to that.
He still needs to read codex couple more times to not confuse some things, but he does a good job as a caster and I enjoy his vids.

LMAO that Manga Macha is adorable!

I'll be getting a new mic setup sometime soon, so I might be coming back to shoutcasting on my Youtube channel. I used to shoutcast way back in the days of DoW 1 and Korbah's DoWPro Mod.

Also, "Moolyftw" and "FoxClaw" do plenty of good youtube DoW 3 casts as well.

Most top players stream, and I'd rather watch them play than any caster, at least you can witness high level play and pick up some things from there for yourself (also they don't talk non-stop and know what they're doing, which is big + for me). Hate to be a downer, but I don't think caster would increase player count, though simple features like observer and downloadable custom maps in-game might very well...

@Stoner
You're coming at it from a player who already plays the game and understands the core mechanics and unit dynamics.
For instance Indrid has tonnes of viewers who don't even play the game - his style of presentation helps outlay the core mechanics and disambiguate the complexity of the game.
For instance he opens with ' Player blahdeblah is playing the force commander, a tanky melee commander who can provide serious disruption.....etc etc.'
People who don't play the game won't care to watch a top 5 player silently stream.
Someone such as yourself (or me) who is more interested in the competitive side of things, then yeah - Twitch streams are great.

Well, you have a point, I won't argue with this, though I gotta say, watched some Indrid casts, and I found them extremely annoying. Guess it's just not my cup of tea then.

Casters so far that I know (if anyone wants):
Indrid casted a few. Don't know if he plans to continue.
Same with Maestro Cretella.
Give them some set-up time. It'll take an adjustment period before all casters are up and running with a lot of in-game knowledge - hell there's still plenty of things the players are figuring out!

Livestream casting of tournaments and such would be good - I try to fill this role (and others like 1kn0wfear) but I also want to play in them.
OFC, observer mode goes hand-in-hand with twitch streaming. But you can still do it through replays.

Indrid casts what replays he is sent. I think his channel is one of the better ways of improving public perception of the game, many of the people who watch his vids are of the opinion that dow3 is dumbed down or simple and providing Indrid with high level plays is the best way to combat this perception. Plus his viewerbase is relatively large and populated by people interested in competitive multiplayer.
I mean, I wasn't even involved with the match and I emailed him the Koof v Capoch match that is still one of his most viewed dow3 casts, and it was just one of the more viewed ones on game replays. Once he is shown good games he'll cast them.
One of the big problems we have at the moment is that new patches render replays from previous versions unplayable. I think at this critical stage of the game's life this is a major hindrance to trying to change people's minds about the game, for those who didn't give it a fair chance.
