Las cannon devastators are so good that I don't even feel the need to build the machine cult anymore.
Just put that extra power into fast 3/3 upgrades and crush your opponents. Works good, it only doesn't work vs the two best Orks players that we have (Yogi and Bhruic). Works good vs other top 5 Orks.
I really want Relic do something in regards to this so we SM players would want to build the machine cult again. Ever since last patch the meta is only mass infantry.

LS is not good anymore because they get countered easily now but sometimes LS are good for harassing point. As for WW, they're still viable but everyone rushes lasdevs then to preds or dreads. Every top SM now abused scouts and then spam lascannons because they're so good against everything now. You might still want to get some dreads and preds but sometimes you don't have to. If your opponent are noobs, there's no need to go for machine cult.

I'm not sure, I'm watching vindi vs babyu SM just now and haven't seen any WW in 15-30 min of the game, same goes for the other SM players. I don't know, maybe because everyone think lasdevs is the only option and ignores WW. LS sure is good for harassing point but against Eldar, they get countered by spectres.

Yes, these games are good cause they are strategic. Light, heavy, superheavy for infantry; vehicle armor for vehicles and buildings.
DoW 3 is strategic even with only 2 armor types and is going to be more balanced because of it.
Even caeltos had to remove some armor and damage types out of the elite game and thats why elite mod had only slightly better balance.
The only thing that adding a crap ton of armor and damage types causes is people to cheeze.
Maybe you got the wrong impression. Adding some more dmg types and armors (1-3) would give better ways to nuance units and make roles of weapons more clear.
Elite mod still has more then triple the ammount of armor then dow III .
infantry, heavy infantry, superheavy infantry, vehicle, building light/heavy, fire resist armor
even company of heroes has more armor types then this game (at least 3)
cheese would only be possible if the balance is off, and I think chees can easily be done now also "cogh" scout spam "cough" kill team cough"

(outright OP unit cheeze/ unconventional early game cheeze through clever use of certain damage types/ cheezy globals and hero abilities that synergize cheeze with more cheeze making it ultimate cheezestruction) like seriously thinking back to DoW 2 all it was, was who could lay down the cheeze the thickest and that person would win the game for his team trolling.

Relic probably didnt predict that players would spam heretics at such scale.
Grey knights ( probably were fixed in latest elite patch but were so cheezy in some applications that people would kick GK players thank you suppressing flame weapons)
Eldar. (Insert any high level eldar game to see artistic flashy cheeze)
And when eldar starts losing there is always the fire dragon cheeze Perfect combo of armor types, damage resistances, mobility and damage type that seems to shred anything.(might have been fixed already)

In lategame spam laserdevs, perma charge and you can give a ++heresy redacted++ of armor type. cause the dmg is absurd even against 3/3 infantrie.

Rock Paper Scissors. LasDevs are anti vehicle so yeah they kill Preds.
In case of confusion, ASMs jumping into LasDevs is the counter.
The problem with the las dev is that its too cost effective and in,big enough numbers becomes rock paper and scizzor because of its void ray like ability....
