If you like the game - help it out! I never bother with writing game reviews but given the vast amount of negative steam reviews left by players that have played no more than 2hours (or a similarly small amount of time) I think it is important that those of us that enjoy the game speak up!
Don't be quiet upon reading this, build some momentum for the game and tell the forum that you'll write a review (maybe copy and paste it below) and submit it on steam!

This is my review...
The game has received a lot of bad consumer press....which I understand but largely disagree with.
I've played clsoe to 380hours at the time of reviewing it and I won't go into excessive depth but I would thoroughly recommend the game to anyone who is a fan of RTS games.
Though this does come with a 'however.'
It is a new beast that is based upon the traditions of RTS games and in particular relic RTS games. But it is NEW - so don't approach it expecting the same kind of RTS you've played in the past. There are some things that have been simplified and others that have been complexified. This is not a bad thing overall - there will undoubtedly be some things you wish were present which aren't (for me these are things such as directional cover, more than 2 armour types and more of an emphasis on squad upgrade options) but there are plenty of fantastic aspects which add a great deal of variety and depth to the game in their place (for instance the fog of war being dictated by line of sight and high ground vision).
Ignore the remarks about this being a MOBA - these are baseless. I want to say there are some aspects that draw inspiration from MOBA's but the line of sight based fog of war comes from COH2 and pretty all that leaves is the fact that Elites are very potent (welcome to warhammer though) and the artstyle emphasises flashiness and visual telegraphing.
In other areas, the graphics are fantastic - anyone who says the graphics of DOW2 were better is objectively wrong and they simply haven't actually compared the two properly....however, DOW2 does convey a sense of 'Grimdark' better with it's artstyle than DOW3.
The OST is great and excedes the previous two DOW's for conveying the flavour of the WH40k universe (being more grimdark) though for many it lacks the overt sense of drama and replaces it with a persistent sense of tension. In truth, the OST has several dramatic peaks but is not implemented fully into the multiplayer (which I hope will change with time).
Finally, the game is good and it will continue to get better with time....the only word of warning I'd offer is that the multiplayer community at the moment is fairly skilled so you'll have to ease yourself in with 3v3's and 2v2's and expect to have your first games of 1v1 serving as a few lessons for the future!
If you do get it, I look forward to bumping into you in the game!

Kinda sounds fanboyish (not the review but the first post)
Do people even take steam reviews seriously? (not trying to discredit the system)

Well in Steam reviews this game has a mixed and is unfortunately falling. Still I bought this game regardless, because I like it, also true player doesn't judges game though someone's opinion or review, but though own experience by playing it. I enjoyed it so I'm satisfied. Sadly however, there won't be probably expansion or a new race, but I will still play it as much I want.

@Robomate
Yeah I agree it is kind of fanboyish - like I said I tend not to write reviews and don't pay much heed to steam reviews either. However I think DOW3 got given an unduly hard time for a combination of reasons and it would make sense for the fan(boys or girls) amongst us to speak up and highlight the positive aspects of the game - of which I think there are many.

I don't think there's any kind of complex conspiracy behind the negative reviews and plummeting player numbers.
When in doubt, Occam's razor.
MaxwellsDaemon
@deadman
I don't think there is any complex conspiracy either....not sure I suggest anything close to that.
When in doubt see for yourself, find some evidence and then apply Occams razor - blindly trusting the opinions of masses doesn't always bear out as a logical, good decision.
Robomate
"also true player doesn't judges game though someone's opinion or review"
Exactly though nothing wrong with looking out for red flags however at the end of the day ONLY YOU know what YOU LIKE, likes and taste is subjective.

This is for relic to sell their game not the community as much as nobody wants to see the game die
Relic should be more transparent, more vocal at least on the forums and advertise more host another 2x SKULL event for example considering they have a sale going on
deadman
You're actually advocating a conspiracy, though; you're suggesting people spam Steam with positive reviews as a way of trying to fraudulently balance out the overall score of a game that isn't doing well based on its own merits.
Steam reviews should be based on honest feedback, not a certain vocal section of the playerbase attempting to influence the overall score for personal reasons. Why should the general public anymore trust your (arguably synthetic) positive opinion of the game than someone else's negative opinion of the game?
I'm just somewhat wary of asking people to post reviews of a product because it's not doing well; it's the sort of practice advocated by dodgy con-artist developers like those War Z guys a few years ago...

I pay heed to Steam Reviews as they appear mostly accurate if you really spend time reading a few positive/negative with comprehensive writing and arguments. I tend to rely on them way more than any gaming magazine review, at least they are honest, even if missing point of the game.
And I still hesitate to give review, because I really don't wanna give another negative, and giving positive one might be a customer trap. Considering condition game is in right now, Relic might just drop a bit more cosmetic content and cut loose avoiding further losses and I won't blame them. If support for this game will stop, no one in his right mind can recommend it to anyone.
CANNED_F3TUS
Getting seriously annoyed with you repeating (i doubt we will see any additional content) when its clear we are getting another race AND HAVE BEEN GETTING CONTENT,
CANNED_F3TUS
Why should relic cut their losses?
They sold fairly well for starters. I know its only like 250k but thats good for an RTS game.
deadman
By the standards of Relic's previous game - CoH2 - DoW3 appears to be a failure.
I suppose people can choose your own yardstick for success, though. Compared to Grey Goo, it may well have done okay.
MaxwellsDaemon
@deadman
I'm not sure why you would see this as a 'conspiracy.'
What I'm advocating is -if- you like the game, leave a positive review, be vocal about it. There is nothing synthetic, conspiratorial or conniving about that....it's people who honestly like the game leaving an honest review about it.
No idea where you're coming from with this really....
Likewise, did you read my review - did it seem imbalanced? or overly biased? I think you're stretching it if I'm honest.
deadman
My point was simply that if people wish to leave positive reviews they will. This thread is not necessary.
Jelly
The only major content updates were annihilation and now a bunch of skins, and both of these are a direct result of poor review feedback. People leaving negative reviews whined about these two things in particular.
@MaxwellsDaemon 's effort here isn't worthless.
Gosu
If you make game good, people will leave positive reviews. check coh1 reviews. compare to dow3
MaxwellsDaemon
@deadman
Well, that's a truism but thanks
My point is perhaps people will feel encouraged by this thread and want to leave positive reviews after reading it - if I was offering money, then you'd have a point....as it stands I still don't get why you bothered mentioning anything?
Brichals
I can remember coh 2 getting absolutely hammered on release. It had a metacritic which was unbelievably low. There was that Russian youtuber's hate campaign, there was a huge petition to get the game banned, it was removed from sale in Russia and other CIS countries.
Deathmaw
I'll change my review to a positive one when they actually do something about the balance. The content has improved a lot since launch, but balance and unit diversity is still awful.
Gosu
Coh2 was not good on release. it is not great now either. it is subpar.
deadman
CoH2 had more - and better - content at release.
Brichals
I'm not sure about that. I never finished the campaign, 2 factions (no mirror matches) with doctrines that did nothing and a lot of samey commanders. Coldtech was bad and eventually had to be removed. Still, it kept me playing. I think coh2.org did a lot for that community, we don't really have an equivalent for dow3.
Gosu
Coh1 was greatest game. coh earned that community.
Fww
I'll add my positive review when they add jpop to mp music
charlando
Arguably this has already happened long before today.
suspision
Calling for more positive reviews is fine. Ive read some of these negative reviews, and to me It seems like a lot of them ate memberberries before writing the reviews.
Some of the more thorough reviews list both the positive and negative aspects. If you graded the game on these reviews you'd expect a 6/10 or 7/10. The recommendation is still negative however. And this simple yes or no metric is clearly visible on the top of the steam page.
CptAlex
I might change review to positive when they make thing right and fix the mess
Alchemist13
I highly doubt that considering people can go back and play Dow 1&2 since they are on steam and usually on sale, so most reviews probably not as clouded nostalgic views. Honestly Dow 3 should give us a nostalgic feeling there is nothing wrong with a game giving people us same enjoyment and feel the previous games do that is what sequel are supposed to do, dow 3 doesn't do this and it was and still very bare bones game that is priced at $60. So I think Dow 3 is getting mostly fair reviews I don't see how anyone can recommend this game to people.
Fr3quency
where is it clear that we are getting a new race? The necron appearing at the end of the campaign? Well that maybe WAS the plan, before the player numbers went down the drain. I highly doubt this game will get anything substantial at all, considering the situation. It simply doesnt make sense from an economic point of view. Why invest in a game that is a) pretty much dead and b) which main point of criticism isnt lack of content but the core game design itself. A new DLC army wont fix that issue.
I would be highly surprised to see otherwise, but doubt Sega will take the risk, they will do damage control now I suppose.
