Hi guys
I really like the eldar (i play them in the tabletop too), i am having an hard time with them, what are the best units/builds overall (for example, are Shadow spectres usefull)? i usually start with DA then i go for scouts and for WG and WB, i have trouble specially vs blobs (i read that falcon are great but they are just too expensive). any suggestion?
are WG and WB worth theyr cost?
Also i know that i have to harras enemys, but for me SM is just too hard to harras, they always drop pod+banner in my face, also flamers
keep in mind that this is not a whining/rage/salt post, i am really looking for advices by eldar players that are better than me.

Wraith guard are useful. I use wraithblades as a demolition team for buildings. They are weaker in combat. Maybe some one else has had better luck with using them properly. I find spectres too weak ( personal opinion).

All of their units are viable depending on the level of the players you're playing against, but against good players, Wraithblades won't survive long in combat and so are a waste of power. Wraithguard are useful sometimes; I'd pair them with my Warp Spiders if I was going to use them at all; but find it better to save the power so I can field more Fire Prisms later on.
I'm in the rank 8 3v3 team, though I don't play much 1v1. My current strat uses Ranger Focus for increased vision from rangers, Ronahn and Macha for early game, and then Warp Spiders for their mines (to assassinate heavy armour and super-heavy elites comboed with stasis) and Improved Listening Posts and Plasma Grenades also to help with early game. I tend to beeline to Fire Prisms while getting some infantry upgrades along the way. The key to this strategy is to use your rangers to get intel on your opponent that he can't get of you, in order to counter, outplay, and then to crush your opponent's pushes before moving in to clean up. The endgame is to have Rangers around the map in stealth cover for vision, and then Fire Prisms for force projection, allowing you to isolate and kill enemy armies one at a time.
This is my particular strategy; you can be more in your face if you like, but Eldar are naturally disadvantaged in straight-up fights because of the amount of time it takes for them to regain their shields after they take losses. (although Relic are looking in to changing this by giving Eldar extra shields if they reinforce a unit). This means you have to play defensively early on and simply evacuate your point if your opponent musters a strong push; this is why I take improved listening posts, to delay attacks and up the stakes for the opposing army.
A new player will quickly realise that Macha is absolutely essential to the way Eldar play, and you should pretty much always take her, at least for the first hundred or so games, so that you can learn her complexities. After that point, you probably won't want to give her up. She is Eldar's best answer to almost every push in the first 15 minutes of the game. Stasis is insanely powerful if you learn how to use it right. Her psyker blast does some good damage to pre-upgraded units, but it's main strength is the 75% damage reduction and 25% attack bonus it gives to your own units within its radius, for a good 20-30 seconds. You can use this to counter a waagh push, for example, and it's the only buff of its kind Eldar have, with only a 60 second cooldown, so spam it by throwing your spear on the ground and using the ability around your units. It's strong enough to be comparable to a banner drop or a Waagh, and many Eldar players aren't aware of it and use her for nuking, at which she falls off pretty quickly once your opponents buy infantry upgrades. This should help you win some games against players who aren't aware of its strength.
If you like I can send some replays of this kind of gameplay
Note on Fire Prisms: they are extremely strong end-game, but many players struggle to use them because they don't have enough scouts and so aren't able to use their full weapon range. They die extremely easily, so it's crucial that you get vision of most of the map so you can position them correctly. They should always be paired with Rangers.
