Personally, I've haven't found a good use for it. I usually don't even use it, not unless I've bought all the elites already and have nothing better to do (alot of microing tends to make me busy). It's probably just me who doesn't know how to use it properly, as when I try to use the conduit I just get stunned, loose it and die with whoever sacrificed himself, and the storm itself does alittle more than scratching their backs, looks pretty though. If someone has gameplay footage on how to use it properly where it actually turns the tide of the battle it would have been much appreciated!
I feel the same way, i usually don't use it because the amount of damage is ridiculous in comparison to the orbital canon...
When i use it it's only for having sight and making my FP shoot from high range.
Try using it when you engage in battle. Transform the storm into a conduit and smash their forces. It does pretty huge damage and splashed damage though but the problem is, they're avoidable and cannot target the elite heroes.

I have a replay somewhere that I use a conduit to basically wipe a whole fleet of fireprisms.
SM ability - Holy crap this ability effs everything it touches up. Army clearer, Building destroyer and Power Core melter.
Ork ability - Made more for clearing buildings than armies because of the load time. If you get your army caught in this, they deserve to be dead.
Eldar ability - Weak AF. Other than slowly lowering health, it's almost useless. It has no where near the same effect as the SM Orbital Strike. If you are good at microing, you can dodge this storm easily. On the flipside, if you use this ability, you nearly have to stop all army micro to make sure that the points you spend on the Storm are worth it.

Fireprisms, or Eldar vehicles in general, are easy AF to kill. Irrelevant.
Eldrich Storm is not worth the 2 points to use. There is no REAL tactical advantage of using it other than to give the opposing team the illusion that they would die.
I feel like some problems with these abilities are that they all technically have counters, but they aren't things you'd stumble across on your own.
Roks: You can grab the floating thing and move the Roks where you want (for offense or defense). This is fairly easy to do since its pretty out in the open and obvious.
Orbital Bombardment: Technically you can occupy the tower thing its attached to, which makes it stop moving. Never managed to pull this off, though, since you have to occupy it for a few seconds and touching an orbital beam immobilizes you. This is exacerbated by the fact that the beam can travel pretty far from its satellite dish thing.
Eldritch Storm: You have the choice of an uncounterable, huge slow effect with small amount of damage, or a counterable Conduit version. Even when countered, it reverts back to its weaker form and can still be used.
I think on paper they seem balanced, but I think it could use some tweaking and better instructions for players. Of the three I'd say Bombardment hits the hardest and is the hardest to counter, which is clearly problematic. As for Eldrich Storm in particular, I feel like it would be better if it just initially spawned in its Conduit form (maybe even targeting a Unit) then turn into a regular storm if the Conduit dies. Prevents new players from accidentally misusing it, and avoids frustration.
1)That's really worthless discussion.
2)Storm is tier 3 weapon with EP cost.
3)With adequate upgrades only unit that can be killed by full storm charge on teir3 - workers. So enemy just ignore it. Or spread forces away.
4) In good hands SM and Orc ultimates are deadly horrific. Eldar ulty is bit usefull to do some damage.
Summary: compared to SM and Orcs Eldar don't have ultimate at all. I don't really think that cost arguing. Same as destructor tanks "weak spots".
They way I see it it's meant to tilt a fight in your favour not delete your opponents army, it has weak dps but requires no set up, can't be cancelled and can free roam. The other super abilities are scary but generally pretty easy to avoid, you just need to be ready to run and soon as they drop.
Eldrish storm can t be interrupt.Enemy can just take rocks beacon and run away from main Forces. You can interrupt orbital strike by capturing its control panel.Buff to slow or dmg would be welcome but rework is not needed.
It is awful, both of the other two are infinitely better than it. The only time I will ever use it is if I have all my elites already bought and am sitting on a pile of elite points with no other use. Even then I rarely use it because I forget, due to it having that little impact.
A way I've seen it used to some effect is by transferring a unit to it inside own lines and then pushing forward through it; it has a lot of range and, as already stated, the slow effect. I don't consider it to be a nuke like Roks or Orbital bombardment. Alas, it does seem to underperform a bit.

Really? Throw scout's grenade or suicide bomma into it and it revert back to its storm form.
That is ofc a possibility, hence the reason to "load it up" inside own lines. And the unit you load also tells abit about it's durability I think, not entirely sure though.
This can happen with any nuke but cast the storm behind enemy lines with sight provided by a ranger squad and slow the enemy while immediately attack with fireprisms and rest army to completely wipe them.
I used to think storm was useless too but as with the rest of elder it takes skill and a little know how. It can be quite devastating with conduit. It's not a simple click and go though.

It can situationally be good....but those situations are few and far between....equally why bother having the other form at all? It is literal garbage.

True the cloud is useless but imo most situations are good. Not as devastating as the sm bombardment (and difficult to counter if played right) but the ork rocks isn't too hard to counter. SM can counter conduit pretty easy if they have a drop pod handy but (hint) most enemy units shouldn't be too close to conduit to counter it.

Thanks for your input- yeah I haven't seen anyone use it to good effect. Friend or foe or ++heresy redacted++ or pro.

crippler38
It's a slow, so I guess it has that going for it? An uncounterable slow that follows people? That's about it.
Eldritch storm in TT is bad too though.
Lepreconum
Um... slow really helpfull when SM tanks slowly moving forward killing all in thier path. BUT you can slow them. Awesome
tharrival
After the patch its useless pretty much after the patch sm wipe you out with a look and Eldar cant even scratch there paint
Belialxv
Eldritch storm needs a buff in order to be in the same category as the other special abilities.
I've yet to see it do as much work as the other special abilities.

Where as I can agree with you in principle.... the truth is I'd rather a deathstorm drop pods.

For some reason relic nerfed the dmg by half when it already was just meh, I still don't understand the reasoning behind that.
Fww
At least some people get scared and retreat when it does ++heresy redacted++ nothing even to tier1 units

I think rok used right is the hardest to counter.
e.g. - cast on nob, Gorgutz, deffdred, and run at your objective. Only a crap Ork just casts it isolated and free to picked up by a servitor etc.
Conduit is ok. But it doesn't compare to the other ultimates in efficacy or ease of use....
