Gives a standard "Failed to find a supported hardware device." message.
Graphic driver is updated.
DirectX is up to date.
My graphics card is listed in one of the config files among the rest, so I'm fairly sure that it's supported.
Possible causes for this issue? Any way to bypass the check?
"Failed to find a supported hardware rendering device. Ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for Dawn of War 3. Verify that DirectX is properly installed and that you have the latest drivers for your system."
Windows 7, if that matters.
My computer is powerful enough to run this game, drivers are up to date, as is DirectX.
Workaround or fix would be welcome.
If anyone knows the basic layout for allowing a specific card in that one file that mentions it, that would be worth a shot as well.
Also tried installing a crapton of Optional Windows Updates, a restart, and 4 sessions of verifying the game files.
Going on a week with no response, either here or at the email attached to the crash reports. TBH I feel like this might be part of the reason for the plethora of bad reviews that this game gets.
@Pyr0mrcow Could you PM me your support ticket number? I can check in on it personally!
Thanks for the response. Sorry about getting testy, was starting to think that I'd run up against the refund deadline :P
Status update for anyone interested.
Kat did their part and advanced the issue to SEGA support. No complaint there, thanks for the effort.
After a week of waiting and checking back, I received what seems to be an automatic response; a copy-paste of the exact steps mentioned on the forum, which, if anyone had actually been on the other end of that account reading previous messages on the support ticket, it would have been known that I had attempted those steps multiple times.
Given the nature of that response, and how long this has taken (3 weeks now), I'm simply tired of dealing with this issue and am going through the process of getting a refund from Steam.
Note that the issue does remain unresolved. I've seen people still looking for support on it, and it has apparently been ongoing since this game was in Beta.
Good luck to anyone else having this experience.
