Thanks to Gorb for his attention, but he is moderator, not developer.
Soulstorm still COULD be a good game. You just need to fix major bugs in lobby and use Kyborg's bugfix to release an official patch. This problem can be fixed in one week or even faster, but players are struggling during several years!
Something I've noticed that may or may not have an impact on games starting or 'bugging out'. I was always in room 1 because that's where most of the players would be and it would be easier to get in touch with people. However, I recently changed to room 2 in the lobby which hlds less people. That seems to have an impact on ho wmany games bug or not. I have slightly less games bugging lately.
maybe, finaly, we can have your attention? BTW, there are some good suggestions in this video, eg "get back in touch with your fanbase".
I'm sorry your new game wasn't a succes, I really am as I love the DoW series. A lot of people have been saying they weren't happy with the direction you were taking the game. You had the guts to stick to your decisions but DoW 3 selling graphs and active player statistics show that most of those warnings should've been taken seriously.
I really hope you pick it up again Relic and continue to make games that you are known and praised for.
So, lets make a new start and work with us on these issues please. We still very much want to play your games, in this case DoW Soulstorm, but we can't as a connection bug is kicking players an incredible lot of the time!
Valiant, my dear friend... I am afraid there will be no feedback here. These guys from Relic can't even balance dow3 and you are talking about dow1. Nobody cares about this game any longer. I would think Kat_RE and others think to themselves that we must be lucky to have game servers online still. Soulstorm was made by Iron Lore which wasn't even Relic and this was 2008! Who cares now in 2017?
Moreover, I am actually glad that DoW 3 has failed. It's online is smaller than Soulstorm now and honestly I hope it won't teach them and all this bunch of "game developers" will go bankrupt asap. Hopefully someone else will start dealing with Dawn of War. Honestly, there is no feedback, no any single reply from the customer support team. If I've been running my businned in the same as they do.. Well. I don't want to even think about it.
Hey, you, Relic - you should learn how to support customers in the same as way as Blizzard does.
I understand you sentiments, I definitely do. But I can't be happy when a WH40K product fails... it's just bad for the future of any of these games. I'd have hoped it would have been good but actually, one of the reasons it may have failed, is the same reason we are so unhappy in this thread:
ABSOLUTELY NO IN DEPTH FEEDBACK AND NO SIGN THEY ARE READING CONSUMER FEEDBACK, LET ALONE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
The guy in the youtube video I linked to above, touches on this and was one of the reasons I included it. I have no affiliation with him, no clue about past meddlings between him and Relic. Frankly I don't care about that. All I care about is that this game, Dawn of War Soulstorm, gets the support it needs. Being a fan favorite, a product that is still being sold online and promises a multiplayer mode. Then, it should function A LOT better than it does now.
Remind you, we are not asking about balance fixes. We are only talking about the bugs in this game that prevent playing it in a way that is acceptable to us. This bug, that we have come to call the "transferring badges bug" and which may in case be actually 2 bugs that happen when a game starts to load, is the worst of them right now.
Next thing should be the bugfix mod, WHICH IS ALREADY AVAILABLE THANKS TO A COMMUNITY EFFORT and which fixes a lot of the persisting ingame bugs that can ruin a players experience (bugabuse).
I'm not challenging Relic/Sega. I just want them to communicate about a product that they are selling and bear the responsability for.
Thank you,
Valiant
P.S. as an aside, on the DoW III hype creation. Of course you'd want your audience to be hyped about your new product. But when youtube video comments are overwhelmingly negative and ask for certain things about the game to be changed and you, as a company, totally ignore these comments -even worse, only proclaiming that feedback is "so positive"- you are riding a very risky rollercoaster.
The marketing strategy was generally clear but man, did it backfire. It's like blindly and deafly selling a lie. I don't think these things work anymore these days. It wasn't trustworthy at all and I think they have lost a lot of their reputation. I personally felt disrespected and belittled.
So, the lack of response we are complaining about in this thread, seems to be imbedded into the strategy/culture of this company now. I don't believe that is a good thing.
You can't have your business run by your customers but you can't exclude them either.
It's all been said before, nothing new here. I'll write down the effect of these bugs in practice to show how detrimental these issues are to multiplayer games.
From experience it seems that for every player in the game there's a chance that a gamebreaking bug will trigger, causing the game to freeze for everybody when transferring badges or for players to drop during loading. This means in practice the following:
-4v4 games will not start. Because of the bugs these once very popular big team games aren't played anymore.
-3v3 games will sometimes start if the players are lucky. The odds of 3v3 games starting without problems are around 40%.
-For 2v2 games the issue isn't too big but still frustrating. A problem here is that if an observer drops during loading because of a bug, the replay of the game cannot be saved.
So, we're close to the 1 year anniversary of this thread. A thread about the number 1 problem with your Legacy game. And we are still waiting for a decent answer.
Since DOW 3 has been buried officially, maybe there is some time to fix if nothing but just the bugs that prevent us from playing this game with any sense of confidence? Pls aadress the drop bugs.
If you want to rebuild customer confidence, here is a good place to start.
Please, pay some attention to this topic. All described problems still exsist. You may find even full videos of bugs with console logs on the fist page of the topic. Dawn of War: Soulstorm is the most popular game of all series and the best rated one. Thousands of players require bugfixes, they have right to ask.

Thank you Dwight to bring some more practical info on this.
Also, kind of irony, I just received an item in my steam inventory: get DoW 3 at 50%...
