Good day DoW community,
i know DoW3 was "buried", i know it has it's problems besides lack of a Last Stand Mode - but this is my call to all fans to let us show Relic and SEGA that we still care, even when they let us down. We stick, even when it's difficult.
In the midst of battle, i shall have no fear
Last Stand Mode for Dawn of War 3
http://chng.it/QNHZ5wjTp2
This is my try to - even it might be useless - to reanimate DoW3 and maybe, just maybe give DoW another chance so we might get a sequel in our lifetime.
If you support it - sign and spread the word.
If not - it's fine, but please don't hate on other people because they like a game, that you don't like.
In the end we are all fans of this franchise and the series, otherwise we wouldn't be still reading in the forums.
Feel free to discuss - but please no hate.
Kind regards,
Zasig
p.s. i know i'm no name - but i'm a dedicated fan

hey Zasig can I link this to steam forum as it will be seen by more people
Zasig
hey wardragon,
of course you can! i would be glad if we would get a lot of signatures!

I support this. But I don't want to sign one of those info gathering petition sites.
GenDrameron
This game does not need this, but fractions and support ....
Zasig
@GenDrameron Getting a Last Stand Mode is way easier then getting the factions and other more complicated stuff. It would be just a beginning to hopefully show Relic and Sega that people still care.
@Decepticats thanks for the support - but change.org is no information gathering site. You can just fill in some short data like T. for your name and a junk e-mail address. No adds or anything else.

I still play, often. There are some good players. I am so, so SO sad the game was abandoned and would LOVE to see them pick it up, even if it was just for a simple mod like this. Please. Do it. I will pay for it. Please revive this game, just a little.
Please?
We are loyal fans. Don't poop on us...

I really don't want to say bad, but I have to.
The publisher, the game maker, no longer cares about keeping his camp, just how much he sells, almost all the articles I have read all just support them being only interested in money.
To put very little on the table to be honest .....
More OST, Multiplayer Race Species and Game Mods should be a much more transparent and enjoyable Ranked system that rewards fairly and is not a crappy ranking list.
And one of the hottest points is that there is still no observer mode in the game.

Sorry, but they can manage the "revival" by easier means, like giving away the game for free for 1 day, like they did with CoH2 and take a closer look on the following feedback.
But they won't. DoW3 is in the same state as Act of Agression was after Eugen terminated contract with Focus - the game is still priced as AAA, but has a lot of -75% events and 0 support. Because there is noone who can support it.
It was them who "burried" the game, mate, with how in just a month after release they'd anounced AoE4 and just in weeks after that lost Boulle, then pulling CoH2 support team onto DoW3 (that's not even a secret by now - you can openly ask Brok or, rarely, Jamine in CoH2 discord about that - 2 remanants of once proud and tall 3-men team), then disabling skulls and starting to hire personel on another project just before the new content for DoW3 was to come.
I didn't read any articles (though I might have influenced them via reddit shitposting [no, that's not about how great I am, but rather how stupid those people writing them are]), but can surely tell you what person who managed the project was trying to achieve (and he, indeed achieved that with DoW3 hitting next to 800,000 activated copies on Steam following this https://medium.com/@tglaiel/using-achievement-stats-to-estimate-sales-on-steam-d18b4b635d23 method to account the result an year ago - which, by the way, can estimate the limit inferior only). So the only thing I would ever vote would be Relic\Sega recognizing his service.. and terminating it.
History knows a lot of occurences like him - Judas, Danton, com. Yezhov - and whoever they served - be that Kohen, National Convention or some Georgian Guy - always released them off-duty after fully recognizing the "merit" they brought. This should happen here as well, because they have a company name to save before them trying to "save" this game.

Nobody said there would be no support or DLC, they just said they were not preparing new content at the moment .... bla bla bla it was a lot of times.
But this is no sign of looking at the 40k developers on twitter and grinning into my face, not uplifting and not supporting.
So what then. then nothing until we say something until we can tear our sled for a day what would be good.
The marketers will decide .....
Decepticats
@GenDrameron It's true they released a game unpolished and didn't stick around to see it through. And that that decision was made for practical financial reasons should be obvious.
From the developer perspective, DoW3 looks like a failure. And the sunk cost fallacy warns against throwing good money/time/dev after bad. Relic obviously feels they could not easily "fix" DoW3 which from their perspective would mean getting it to a place where it has an active and sustained playerbase. That's understandable given the way it is talked about online by most folk.
They have a partnership with SEGA. And as part of that they have agreed to a variety of other projects that will take up their time and resources. AoE4 and an unannounced new title among them. In their shoes, would it make sense to devote any of your limited resources to DoW3? A game which, on top of being very complicated and possibly being unsalvagable, probably isn't very attractive to work on since any time it comes up it is trashed. It'd be a hard call to say "OK qualified engineer, you get to work on this alone now."
I hope they do find the time and resources to add more content to it and do a few balance patches. But I don't expect they will.
GenDrameron
I'll tell you the truth.
I'd do it, I look at financial aspects to do the last job.
A new primitive Co-op campaign.
It's a Last Stand Mod because it's not some big brain art.
I'd have 2 more playable factions, Necron, and Chaos.
In the 1v1 mod I would change the main house to Power Core in the Poer Core mod and 2v2 in 3v3 to keep the traditional one so far.
I'd like to copy the SC 2 Ranked system to the leagues, an ovserver mod, and do nothing else with the game.
I would give them in an accessory and sell it four times as much as the base game.
And what did I do anything? what they asked for and what was logical!
Not in response to tombs, in fashion hate, but in response to Core player requests and attention.
Decepticats
@GenDrameron It all sounds fun and logical. But again, it's easy to say that from the outside with nothing at stake and no other obligations calling resources away.
I hope they come back to it and at least add more maps and do some more balance/bugfix. But it seems unlikely unless AoE4 is like a smash success and they are able to spare some resources rather than urgently moving everyone on to the next thing.
